Like any MMO your results are going to be largely tied to your ability to reach out and socialize with people to do content. M+ and raiding are pretty enjoyable if you're playing with company you enjoy, pugging is about the same as here. You wipe, have one or two people leave and that's it. You might have that one asshole that dms you trying to still talk shit after they've left only to learn you're on ignore when you respond but that's really no different than here where people vaguepost you over them losing a CC match.
I've been having more fun personally on WoW as of late but again, your mileage will vary. I went out of my way to jump into various guilds or communities so I have people to play with so now I have a lot of options and the game feels great. That being said, I know if I didn't reach out and just kind of logged in and kept to myself, signing up for groups and playing it solo then I would be having about as much as I would be here which is to say not that much.

The problem is getting there from level 1. Learning how classes work, how the dungeons work, what the raids are like. You have to explain all this shit to someone who's only exposure to mythic+ is several years of "yeah man mythic+ is cool i wish other games did that" with no elaboration at all. Hit or miss, some are easy, some are ridiculously convoluted. Mekkatorque in BFA for example required players to read off colors on robots so the people inside who couldn't see the colors could shut them off. When they really do make interesting mechanics they work, problem is people use addons to solve them so they become just another thing you do. I would say the upper end of innovative and interesting mechanics goes to WoW, XIV is designed to be beaten by a large amount of people and thus kept horribly simple as a result. The amount of mechanical variances in this game where they actually complicate things are few and far between, i.e cursed meteors in DSR which you can still solve but it really isn't an engaging mechanic.

I tried this as a new player on feral druid and it literally did the rotation flat out wrong. it's not good to use.
it told me to spam reapply dot instead of doing my actual damaging ability because the dot costed less energy than my 1 when I was out of energy.

Not to disagree with you, friend, but this isn't exactly true. Players do mod them, Blizzard and Square both denounce their usage and advise against it. WoW has had gooners banned before due to changes with Warden (their anticheat) and it has banned gooners before in I want to say like 2019 but was overturned due to a lot of seething and "Well who does this really hurt even?" Think it happened again in 2021 when they accidentally banwaved a ton of people using ConsolePort for a controller and also hit a bunch of gooners again.
Similarly they are still banning for using morph programs similar to Glamourer here.

No one who actually plays video games was excited for any of that. Veilguard specifically got backlash during its debut because of the comedic tone of the trailer they released. Thing is, I played Origins a lot and did play 2 when it came out but I never got the tones of marriage, even as someone who actually did activism to push for same-sex marriage being a thing. The problem was the game to me felt overly obsessed on how flashy it was. The graphics at the time were nice, the animations were great and I won't say I didn't have fun with the combat for a bit of time. The issue is that was pretty much ALL there was going for the game.
Story was boring as shit and took place over 3 easily rushed through acts. The story was horribly generic and your choices didn't carry nearly as much weight. Like at most you could change a handful of things that had implications, sure, but they were nowhere near as impactful as in Origins. "Oh, I want to fight the mage this time" doesn't have the same punch as "Yeah I let the desire demon live inside your son instead of doing what I said because she offered to teach me Blood Magic so uh, good luck with that and all!"
Most of my annoyances, pretty much all of them actually are from just how lazy the game overall as a product was, which sucks because I absolutely adored Merrill and she was the cutest thing in that game, not exactly Origins Leliana with her cute as fuck lisp but she had charm. Sadly almost none of the other ones did except maybe Isabella who was literally a bimbo pirate. In hindsight I can notice more of a "plight of refugees" angle but Political Correctness/Whatever-the-Fuck didn't kill DA2, that was just a bad game for being lazy.
Issue is Bioware back then paid off a lot of reviewers before release to say the game was a lot better than it actually was.

The leadup to ShB felt a bit better but still felt a bit random that you leave the front lines, sure the guy that "Called" your soul said that the war would only lead to Doom but he didn't exactly explain how going to the First (? Is going to fix anything.
Zenos and Varis had the best scenes, Varis destroying the alliance with Facts and Logic was fun, and Zenos is straight up just a psychopath.
Can't wait to experience Shadowbringers (after I find a good DRK Glam)

Nah, it looks just fine quality wise. The texture *could* be slightly better, but it's not so bad that it'll be jarring unless you zoom in a lot and focus on it.
