Sometimes they wonder if it'd be a mercy or a punishment, and which of the two is what they deserve

Sunny's not just a wooden self insert, If you look real carefully he does have a personality and it's quite awful, in a mildly realistic way. He has many personality traits of a toxic aspie. The indolence, the immaturity, the woe is me attitude, the living vicariously through otaku media, the narcissistic traits hidden under the veneer of stoicism and shyness, the seemingly random bursts of aggression. He's really not that different from Omoriboy despite the creator's best efforts to sanitize and infantilize him. The part I don't get is why this asswipe is drowning in simps, both in and out of the universe. He's disgusting, which would be fine on its own if the narrative that surrounds him wasn't bending itself backwards to coddle him and justify his actions. I guess his fans are mostly self-inserters who are just like him, or too stupid and shallow to think critically about the media they consume.

I'd also add that Torment similar to Omori in the sense that like 80% of the game is pointless bullshit. My last playthrough somehow lasted 30 hours and I've no clue where did all that go. The gameplay is shit and there is just so much fucking dungeoning to go through. The game's plot hooks you early, though, in my case it was always meeting Deionarra, and yeah, the writing is just that good that it makes the pain worth it, even though some of the best parts are very easy to miss. Like the 24 Wisdom check that lets you defeat the final boss by threatening to think yourself out of existence.

Haven't been having the best luck but I actually managed to get a 5-match higher than the sunglasses. Not really, since these aren't "really" the Faraway party, it's just the Headspace party reskinned to look like the Faraway party, and with their Heart and Juice made static and I'm only using the Faraway skills. In my previous "Faraway party in Headspace" run where I literally did use the actual Faraway party by constantly swapping the party with debug mode I got a lot more crashes and softlocks in cutscenes.

So Abbi MIGHT be impossible, I was only able to get her down to about this far, and that's only because I was having Sunny use Persist basically every turn and got very lucky. I'm going to bail out on this and maybe some Sno-Cones and items from the Boss Rush shop will make a difference but I doubt it, 5 actions per turn plus being made Afraid and stat debuffs is just way too much for the meager Skills of the Faraway party to contend with

Okay so Bossman Hero is actually pretty hard, however, I have a foolproof plan. What I'll do is turn in the Sno-Cone Tickets I've picked up so I can buff everyone, then I'll start the Clems sidequest so the Bandito Mole takes all my Clams. I do this so I can take the "[benefit to the party]...but I'll take all your Clams" deals while having 0 Clams. Then after I beat Bossman Hero I just finish the Clems sidequest and get all my Clams back.

It took a little bit of luck, and burning through more resources than I'd like, but I managed to beat him. The biggest motherfucker was the move where he throws a bag of Clams because it always deals a set 200 damage regardless of stat changes, so if it hits Sunny or Kel you're just dead, I almost lost this run to it near the end but luckily Sunny still had his "did not succumb" effect.

I'm just popping in for the Whole Chickens and Big Rubber Bands but if I really can't beat Abbi then I'll probably just try the Boss Rush because Perfectheart is for sure impossible. Finally got some better luck and got back up to 100k. I'll spend half of this on a cool 10 Sno-Cones and hold onto the rest just in case. I've been trying for like an hour, and I think I can comfortably declare Abbi impossible under the conditions of the challenge. Even if you wanted to Persist every turn with Sunny, her attack that makes you Afraid means that he can't use Persist the next turn so he's basically dead even if you heal him, both because of his low health and her attack which guarantees the next hit is a crit. And the Sno-Cones barely make a difference at all since she just lowers your stats again anyway. Again, 5 attacks per turn is untenable. So that's all for me for today, once I give the Fear fights, -heart fights, and Boss Rush an honest try I'll probably just take a victory lap by cheating egregiously to beat them.

I found a backup on one of my old laptops! Thank goodness, it actually doesn't seem that old. By a basic estimation I did, I think it dates back to roughly around 6/19/24. Significantly less of a loss than I feared, but there's still quite a bit that will be unaccounted for between then and late 2024. Once I've got this main folder ported over...I'll have about 10,529 loosely organized files containing images and other stuff I'd been saving over this last year that I have to organize into the main folder. Oh boy... At least I had enough foresight to save what I knew where duplicate images into their own folder so I can ignore those when merging.
