The game gave me an almost full sword deck so I've been playing a little bit of that on the side but I don't think it's a good partner for rune. The only other deck I own is roach but rune + roach is an autolose against anyone bringing aggro abyss.

Why do you need to go face every turn? Roach forest isn't tempo forest. You don't need to throw fairies at them every turn. Just bide your time and clear the immediate dangers while building up for your combo. In that matchup, Norman is only used for wards because roach can literally OTK from 20 hp. That's what you should be trying to do. There are a lot of avenues to do this. Someone posted an image of roach lethals for any given pp and the easiest was like 3 0pp combo pieces on 8 or 9pp total.

From what I've seen, T5 Wilbert into T6 Aether is strong but then they kind of flounder from there. They can't buff the surviving Aether board with Jeanne yet so their T7 play is usually just playing 1 or 2 more wards giving the opponent another turn to catch up.
