Normally, you'd want an element with three attack instead of affinity. The idea is to max attack since you can use armor skills to get 100% affinity.

So not really worthless, but overall, try it out and see if you like it. The "perfect artian" is only 5-10% better than monster in stats.

Unironically (I'm not joking) Stories does exploration better than mainline. It seriously feels like stories is what mainline always wanted to be. Stronger focus on a narrative, stronger exploration, and ironically prep is even a bigger factor.

I feel the exact way. Outlanders is what I hope Stories is going to be like. Just a big open world and it's up to you to figure out where monsters live with no gay handholding radar telling you exactly where everything is.

I must have put like 10 hours into the Stories 1 demo back on 3DS. I love roaming around the first map. Definitely top 3 videogame maps ever. Such a comfy place.

It's so insanely ironic that mainline is arguably the most successful part of monhun but portable does gameplay better and stories does exploration better. I'm genuinely wondering what mainline has to offer at this point that other games don't do better. I guess it's still the best for social gaming since it has the 16 players rooms with festivals and stuff like that.
