Niina might be a good pick if you want someone for fast dungeon runs otherwise Mion is very good after her Clock tower buffs. I think its the strongest heal in the game atm and you already have Inori SS2 so its also a free charge

She can, but her heal only targets the front-row and the heal amount if is pretty ass. She also has her blessing buff though. At the moment, you really shouldnt need anything more than a yanagi with the clock tower upgrade for heals. if you want to go full meta, Admiral Aoi can pretty much make healers/defenders obsolete, while also providing valuable buffs/OD for when you don't need heals

Healers in JP are in a weird place, where most bosses died in like 2 turns so healing was pretty useless outside of consecutive battles and even cracked healers like wedding yunyun were a complete flop. They're a bit more valuable after the nerfs, but i think most people still don't use them

Kind of a disappointing ending to the whole thing, to be honest. You'd think Yuki's emotional crisis where she regrets pushing Ruka away would have changed something in her, but it didn't.
Also, Ruka was depressed and overwhelmed with guilt before getting eaten, which never got resolved but after the rescue she's just back to her happy go lucky self like nothing happened. This chapter has a lot of things that Maeda kinda forgot to follow up on.

So I finished 5.1 and while it was a chapter focused on Ruka, I felt somewhat unsatisfied throughout (until the final days). The final dungeon and victory lap afterwards were great but Ruka's early mind dives felt like there was a lot of meandering. The last talk with her mom ties it all up and makes it satisfactory but I felt like I kept getting dragged along for a load of nothing before day 13 even if I enjoyed the crumbs about Ruka's past.
The end more than justifies the journey. My mind's thinking...

As of 4.1, narbies were introduced as a somewhat invasive species that shapeshifts into native creatures to go undetected.
But now, apparently, narbies are intelligent creatures with their own society, so what need do they have for such an ability if they live alone in their planet? Why do they have (surprisingly human-like) weapons if they're not willing to fight their enemy?

I'm simply wondering why a species that lives isolated in their own planet, and don't know of any other planets suitable for life, would develop the ability to shapeshift into other creatures. The implication of them being invasive is there, even though it's not explicitly said, but they're basically a parasitic species that shapeshift by consuming DNA to blend in (or so Tezuka said). Even if you assume that was just speculation by researchers who had no way to know better, there's still no explanation as to why they can do that in the first place, from an evolutionary perspective. I know the whole Elder Narby Council scene is just this game's signature Maeda acid trip and it's useless to think about it too deeply when it's so goofy, but it still feels like there's some level of retconning here.

Koju SS3 (waitress) is one of the better general supports and Party Morale is actually becoming a team composition now (memoria needs x amount of morale to use their skills and Koju can turbo it).

Inori SS2 is one of the best piercing clit units period, everyone else doesnt have AOE besides Irene but Inori also hits as hard as a ST attack too.

Isuzu SS2 is one of the best general debuffers in the game, her stonks only go up as Fragile gets weaker because she has the strongest defense debuffs in the game whihc is also aoe at the same time. Her Master skill lets her transfer 5SP to anyone on the team.

Adel is a generally good attacker for Ice and Dark and a good blaster/buffer for Fire. When Adel gets her master skill, she gets Angel Wings as a passive and SS4 lets you have it active on turn 1 which is pretty nuts for later content that try and oneshot you before you move. Thre are other ways to survive those attacks though like turn 1 defense buffs

Yuki is the closest to her and Ruka is basically the only reason for her to live going from 4.1. It makes sense to focus on her. Aoi dying should've also been a whole base event. She was their strongest defender in every metric and probably(?) one of their longest living veterans. But the focus was kept to 31A and 31B.
And it's better that way because they're who mattered to Aoi the most. It keeps the story tight and focused. We don't need to see everyone's reaction to a big event as it'll only dilute its impact.

Unless you're below border this isn't true though. Hacking is still only +50 because it doesn't stack with crit and Yuki isn't a real debuffer, so she's out 20% already, more with the stat changes. Fields and mind's eye are way bigger losers than fragile. Skill attack up multiplier is massively overloaded to the point where just skill attack up + elemental skill attack up is over 400% even before tear bonuses or LB passives. Now you add both fields and mind's eye to that multiplier, so they water each other down even further. Meanwhile defense down multiplier is far smaller - a mere 90% for two def downs, so fragile loses a lot less of its effectiveness when compared to mind's eye and fields. I guess it's a little worse if you used perma def down with it, but still nowhere near as hard as fields and mind's eye got hit.

NTA - ngl i really like yukki, but she's starting to go down in the ranking. Mainly because her role in the day to day dialogue has been strictly limited to insulting everyone and nothing else. It stops being funny when nobody laughs nor bothers to respond to her in any way, she just sees Tsukasa having fun, calls her a retard and a kid and there's no response or punchline, just an insult out of nowhere and everyone else moves on with the conversation. It feels like everyone else just completely gave up on her and just let her do her thing to avoid starting an argument. It's hard to laugh at the joke when she's the only one doing it all the time, every single day without fail.
Her mockery is especially annoying because she knows Tsukasa's life story, but still decides to hold it against her. Even Megumi stopped calling her an idiot like she used to.

It's actually quite hard to get it unless you're looking for it. There's 9 separate times you get to dive in the spirit world, and if you don't collect the memories, the next day they will still be available. It only takes opening the map once in the 9 chances you get to see there are more memories than the obvious ones. Even if you miss all of them, as long as you find one on the last day, you can collect them all right there.
You'd have to be completely blind and never check the map, not even out of curiosity for what Ruka's hometown looks like, on 9 distinct days in order to accidentally trigger the bad ending. I can only imagine how funny it would be if that happens to someone though.

I have something to say about why the high notes in 5.1 didnt hit as much for some people
This goes with my complaint just recently of how terribly they layered the gameplay options between story portions.
The 31-B subplot was actually great, and there are few complaints about it, because it was actually resolved in a satisfying manner. The conflict was defined, the tension sailed upward through the four days of testing, to then climax with the search and rescue. The gameplay of this portion helped guide the story, and did not hinder the pacing of the story at all.
Contrast to Ruka's portion, which is kind of a mess. At first it starts promising, the assumption is that they are delving into memories, and this is just dredging up the backstory of who Ruka is. The intertwining with 31-B's story during the early part was actually well done, even if nothing really happened yet.
Then Ruka malfunctions. Great, that's a good twist! However, this is then followed with long slogs of dungeoneering where NOTHING significant happens except to have an excuse to place Yukki's backstory. But it could have served well enough without needing to susume anywhere at all.
This is also the part where Ruka's portion backslides, though this is more of a narrative thing and is just aside my point. Ruka's conflict meanders between trying to rewrite the past (this is actually time travel now???) and discovering herself. They even bait-and-switch the player for one whole Megumi session with the Yukki calling thing, because nothing happens. Your led to think this is a repeat Yuina trying and failing to make things right, but no it just peters out with Ruka making half-assed attempts; until it is resolved just as one might expect: Ruka didn't really think the past can be changed, acceptance, yadda yadda and all that.

Then follows the large chunk of the Sun Eater drama that completely cuts the pacing of this part in half. You have so many scenes and one huge dungeon where nothing involves Ruka at all. She's been eaten by the plot, and so you have to once again susume through admittedly good setpieces and character interactions, just to get back to the meat of what's supposed to be the plot, "Ruka" reconciling herself with her mother.

If one compares it to 4.2, its like if Megumi didn't have her moment with the loli and her mother until after skullplume was defeated. The emotional impact lacks muscle because you just went through your own little struggle in the final dungeon and yuki's catharsis BEFORE returning to resolving Ruka's plot. Pacing--this is the thing that gameplay ruins. My own amateur suggestion? Simple enough to move Ruka's reunion with her mother just before getting vored: this is even a signal to the player that the stakes might be higher than one might have thought. Or, though this again has pacing issues: layer it into the dungeon as a sort of Ruka visions while she's trapped. She only finds the resolve to survive because her mother shows her the way.

I will be honest, the moment with Megumin mom felt even more hollow to me. Looking back, not only is she barely in the actual story (no seriously, 90% of Megumin side focus on Rumi), but also like... does Megumin even mention caring about her mom even once before? She mentioned her oncein 4.1 and then never mentioned her again until 2 days before the reveal. Say what you want about the spirit world stuff, and I have my own problems personally, but at least Hinata both have a screen time AND an actual bond with Ruka.
