Finished RE3make for the first time and it's an insane nothingburger of a game.

RE, with the exception of 7 and maybe REmake really aren't scary. They're tense, but the amount of jumpscares is very low and typically very telegraphed. If you want one that's not even a little bit scary, then OG 4 or 5 are less scary than CoD zombies.

Playing RE6. I can see why this game is hated so much.

It's basically a cheesy action movie. Very heavy use of QTEs.

Designed heavily around co-op, many sections don't make sense in single player, because your AI partner is invincible and you're just waiting on them to do scripted events. The ideas WOULD be cool in co-op though.

The mouse/keyboard controls are cr4zy, I'm used to them now, but there's a big learning curve and the game doesn't teach you anything.

The intro is bad too, a slow forced walking section. Got a very late 2000s stink about it. With all that said, the gameplay is actually good, very arcadey, it's basically like better RE4 gameplay. I'm playing on "No Hope" difficulty.

I refused to look up the answer to the Silent Hill 2 hospital keypad

I went to sleep and thought about it all day

I thought about crazy shit like Z is the 26th letter, X is 24, T is 20th but there's no "0" on the keypad

I thought it must be some kind of math with the current month, and tried to see if there was anything that said what month it was in Silent Hill

Spoiler: I tried doing a "T" shape but it didn't work, I eventually thought it must it must be a lower case T cross, I tried every combination over lowercase "+", I thought, maybe it's the next month already, so I tried different letters, I tried N like 20 times convinced it must be N, I tried S like a backwards Z then just every flip of Z N S etc. possible... It was just a "T" shape but in a combination I didn't try

I've heard REmake is near perfect but I can see it getting the RE2R treatment later and doing well

I finally got to play this and it’s the definition of average not mid just average. It’s mid compared to the original. Im about to enter the underground jail section and here are my thoughts so far:
Positives:
>The dodge mechanic fells good.
>James and Maria’s voice actors are good
>Graphics are better making the environments seem more disturbing
>Over the shoulder combat works better during shooting.
>Sound design is great

Negatives:

>A lot of bugs and glitches
>Enemies are too fast and can sometimes surround you.
>Dark environments can be TOO dark even when using the normal brightness settings causing traversing through environments more annoying than scary.
