My interpretation of this event and Rebirth overall was because her memory of the future was erased, her sage like demeanor was erased, and so her naturally aggressive and pushy attitude forward again.

In Remake when she first sees the yellow lily that she gave Cloud sitting in 7th Heaven, she offers up a slight smile and never mentions it, showcasing her eventual acceptance that Cloud's love is shared with Tifa.
This was foreshadowed during the moment in Remake when she tells him to follow Tifa into Wall Market.
In the original this was Cloud's idea and Aerith simply followed him. But in Remake it's Aeriths idea, and she literally pushes Cloud towards the plot (Tifa)

Whereas in Rebirth, she's now all over Cloud and is very sensitive about the prospect of considered being just friends, suggesting that Cloud never gift her flower away to another girl again.
That's the same attitude that she was originally supposed to be portrayed as, a girl that would push Clouds weak ass around and tell him what to do.
An "older girl" in the words of Claudia

In Remake because the game has a lot of subversive elements, you could argue she was actively pushing Cloud towards Tifa.
In Rebirth, because it's a more faithful interpretation of the original, she becomes the bossy older girl that she was always meant to be portrayed as.

I think, with Nomura, you have to remember that he is the Kingdom Hearts guy, not the Final Fantasy guy. "His" Final Fantasy characters have done things and had personalities and trials and tribulations over there that did not occur in Final Fantasy. He's also got Advent Children. So what you'll notice is that immediately after VII, Cloud became a dopey mopey schizo sadboy because that's when Nomura got his grubby little hands on VII. All subsequent depictions of Cloud are the same dopey mopey schizo sadboy, because they are all Nomura. Plus, it's been documented in interviews that, at least for Kingdom Hearts, even Nomura himself has no fucking clue what is going on and he has to watch YouTube story explanation videos to remind himself of what he has written. He apparently has a journal of notes, which no doubt becomes blurry and conflated overtime which is evident just by looking at the results of his work, he's also got people apparently that he asks about the lore, and then he supplements these with YouTube video essays of his own work. He has no idea whatbhe has written, and he's written a lot of it over the years, so it's all just a blurry mess that could be OGVII, or it could be Advent Children, or it could be some random VI Compilation material, or it could be Kingdom Hearts, no one knows not even Nomura, and that's what Remake is.

Its more like they changed tifa into being the one people thought she was.
Back in the day and before Remake, people thought of tifa as this insecure shy girl that was the antithesis of aerith "go lucky" attitude. But in reality, what really happened is that people took Tifa plot relevant aspect (which is to hide the truth from Cloud) and extrapolated that into her being shy or insecure. But once you read his lines and attitude, theres nothing suggesting that tifa is this girl that has a shy personality. Sure, shes insecure about Cloud and his stuff, but that doesnt mean shes insecure all around. It makes her kinda bland in comparison.
Remake took that and created "what tifa was according to people". The reality is that every multiplayer game nowadays has both a subscription/battle pass in addition to a cash shop. The most popular and lucrative games are gachas, which also have both. You can expect all AAA games to have this shit in 2025.

With regards to XIV, it has the most generous free trial I have ever seen for any paid game. Whenever they eventually add Shadowbringers to it as well, that's going to be insane. I don't think XIV is predatory at all. You have an infinitely free trial that includes everything up to Stormblood. That's crazy. It's going to be even better when it includes the best MSQ, Shadowbringers, which should happen at the end of Dawntrail. Having a paid game, paid sub, and a cash shop is just the unfortunate reality of a live service game in 2025. At least it has quite possibly the most generous f2p of any live service game.

As far as alt unfriendliness goes, I don't think that's the issue. There is no real reason to have an alt in the first place, so it's sort of a moot point. The only functional reason to have an alt is for Savage gear progression purposes, so the issue is not that you need to go through the MSQ on an alt, the issue is that the reward structure of XIV only really allows you to obtain BiS on one role, and in order to obtain BiS on multiple roles, you'd need to dedicate an alt to dual or split clearing and assigning it a separate role to main. Of course, this is not necessary whatsoever. The crafted gear is good enough to get through Savage with, you will eventually gear alt roles, the tier does eventually unlock, and this complaint only even applies to maybe 10-20% of the population in the first place. You could also make the complaint, for casuals, that the weekly tome cap is the same sort of hurdle, but if you are not clearing Savage there is no use for your gear to begin with, and so it only becomes a self-imposed loot treadmill and not an actual issue. Personally, I'd still like to see earlier loot unlock and a permanent increase to the weekly tomestone cap or to do away with it entirely, but the core issue of "alt unfriendliness" is that you can only really BiS a single job/role in a reasonable amount of time, and if you want to gear up an alt role and be serious about it, you'd be better off making an alt. But again, this is an issue only for 10-20% of the population.

I am saying the cash shop is absurd and that the pricing of things on it and the fact that your digital items no longer are account wide but actually only apply to one character make it predatory. Meanwhile, the quality of the game is not maintained in cadence with the subscription. You have to view the game in its entirety. The free trial is the f2p version. I don't like paid sub + microtransaction, so I have never purchased one. Vote with your wallet. There are no power advantages that you can purchase on the cash shop, its all cosmetic, and lately it has all been garbage casual slop just like all the real outfits in the game lately have been garbage casual slop. The only cosmetic in the cash shop that is, imo, the best in the game are the footwear. Same for the mounts, i don't think any cash shop mount is the best one in the game. On the topic of mounts, there is the VII bike which offers a slight advantage once per expansion, but I think its a nothingburger. You can argue that retainers are l2w, but I think submarines are the real p2w, and the only price is your subscription.

There is no alt issue. That's what fantas are for, and they've been handing those out like candy lately. I don't think the Savage gearing issue is a real thing. Not necessarily, but many of the classics are all variations of what is called Active Time Battle.
Which is a Command based system that uses a timer based on your Speed stat to decide turn orders for issuing commands.
That's the inspiration for the FFVII Remake system that you're enjoying right now.
FFI, II, III, and Final Fantasy X are more of the typical "turn based" that you would see in something like Dragon Quest.
FFX turn based is thought of as 'Conditional Turn Based' and there is a more strict 'turn order' that is based on speed.

I liked the free traversal, and the party members and weapons and day and night system.
