I actually think satan dclimb is the entire problem with rune
cabyss and chaven could EASILY deck rune as long as they don't get otk, this would make rune put more proactive threats in their deck instead of just anti-aggro boardclear and healing. And make them a lot easier for other decks to deal with as well.

With hindsight I think the on boarding was genuinely bad. No information on long term rewards like weekend tournament, poor ability to build a deck early on since you couldn't funnel vials towards a craft, and we received a lot of gibs like the random three legends apology.

I decided to try learning the ROACH for kicks and man I gotta say, the Roach mirror is one of the funniest things I've ever played. It's super slow until it's suddenly over. Roach is definitely a bit brain burny but it's kinda fun to figure out the ideal line to maximize ROACHING.

Already made it back to topaz. I played a few games of roach but I would rather play tempo, I'm also stupid so why learn to count when I can unga bunga with fairies. I also managed to beat ward haven with tempo. I somehow cleared their aether board and then they conceded. I would post a replay but my internet is super shit. Maybe when I move to my next work trip location I can post it. People have posted that they climbed with tempo forest and even made it to diamond as a long term emerald/topaz player so maybe I can do it too. It's just trying to figure out "how". I'm also considering spending more vials to fully animate my haven deck but perhaps I will wait since the next set is so close.

Dragon have very large killing zone compared to most class. Forte is practically unkillable. Twilight is 9 dmg nukes. And genesis is literally free 10 face damage. And ramp dragon can access all of this as early as turn 7. Not to mention Hoechan can reduce the cards to half so you can otk with 2 storm dragon. Ganyu is dollar store Kuon but he cannot be underestimate.. And they have more consistent healing although they are not as strong as heal 11 hp in one turn like Rune. Dragon only need 1 card (that related to hand manipulation) to become as broken as rune. Dragon should go back to their Face root. Meanwhile portal have very short killing zone (7-9). They can be killed as early as t7 and when they reach turn 10, they are practically lost. Puppet need Odin at t7, 2 S.Evo, Noah setup and 2 Orchis to finish game. If they failed to do this they are dead. Same with Artifact. They need to set up Gundam that can only dish out 10 damage and can be killed with bane. Spamming beta mean they cannot clear massive board vomit that Ward, Abyss and Sword have. And everyone have access to heals. Karura is weaker than expected. I thought he would be Portal Albert but turn out he doesn't have storm damage and can only print 1(one) artifact. I think they really need another artifact other than alpha/beta/gamma/Gundam. Also both portal archetype desperately need more fast and reliable board clear and face damage. And I guess more consistent healing? But I prefer if they give that card that prevent full OTK from SV1.

Zwei is the only option, because puppets cannot win the game without evo. Orchis needs evo, Liam needs evo, and you need to spend at least 2 evos on those to win, and 1 to stabilize mid game. Turn 4 and 5 are just extremely horrible for puppets, they have nothing to do at those turns but try not to lose board too hard. Zwei is bad, but she's just the least of the bad options, and acts as bad rush/bane during the late game.

Both of those cards are way better than Zwei. Filene has way too much text for a 2/2/2 and while Senpai's isn't overloaded draw is powerful enough to put her over the edge.
Zwei on the other hand will probably kill a single thing then get deleted because she has no stats and no evolve effect. NTRman is worse because he requires an evolve to essentially do the same thing she does, but there's a reason people considered running the enhance dudes instead of her.

I sometimes wonder the same thing. Sometimes I feel like I think ahead TOO much and just always assume my opponent has the perfect play to everything I do, so I just don't make strong plays because "they'll use x anyway and it'll be wasted", resulting in no pressure. And sometimes I probably overreact to minor boards instead of saving an evo point for a board clear the turn after.

Part of it is also that I'm pretty sure there are decks that just don't work for you no matter how much you try. I felt like that in sv1 where some decks I knew were good were getting me barely 50% winrates while with other t1 decks I was getting 65-70%.

When I get into that situation you describe, I just wait for the next set and new deck and stop thinking about it too hard.

I'm currently master ruby after memeing with lamp dragon so I can see the difference. I've been in diamond/sapphire 50/50 for the whole expansion after reset and the big difference is that ruby players literally let me do whatever the fuck I want. I went back to forest and I literally had a game where I was 19 health at turn 12 after the opponent let me play Lambert Cairn 4 times (all combo'd).

I don't know, an evo'd Norman with 2 golems? A sword board with 4 followers? People go out of their way to make a wide board when I'm going to be at 8 PP in any way they can. Depends on the rest of your hand. Do you have stuff that can answer their next turn efficiently? Do you have stuff that can make their next turn awkward? Can you pressure them to force an answer out while holding onto more pressure? Can you set something up? You have to understand your deck and the matchup you're up against and think how to make the most of the interactions between your cards. Like keeping track of your hp to prevent Salefa clearing the board/forcing her to sudoku by trading. In the svo there was a great play where sword put zirconia behind grimnir and evo'd the grimnir because that made it impossible for haven to answer.
