But seriously, maybe Mike was originally Spamton's TV world persona when he was working behind the scenes. A character written by Tenna and acted out by Spamton but took on a life of its own. When Spamton left, Mike became abandoned because he needs both of them to exist. Tenna's attempts to recreate Mike cannot bring back the real Mike.

I had a dream a few days ago about a different game with a save system where one of the save files transformed into a new location after fulfilling some requirements in the actual game. It'd be cool if Deltarune had that too.
The way I imagine it is that there's something preventing you from accessing the information/room/item needed to progress and, using the copy/erase features as needed, you can start a new game in whatever slot fits the cryptic hint you might've gotten from an NPC. (After activating a flag that allows you to make this special file, for anyone who wants to start a new game normally.) Then the new save can act as a bridge for another location, a shelter for the characters as you defeat an enemy chasing them in the original file by erasing it, etc.
I just really hope there's something more interesting done with the chapter select/file select screens beyond Gaster's comments, seems like a huge missed opportunity otherwise.
