Well, that was the most hilarious way my colony died so far.
A few days ago I decided to give Oscar a chance and try his recycle mod. At first everything was going great, we were building monuments from compressed trash and were happy.

Then I decided to start recycling waste into metals and fucked up crafting bills.
There were a couple dozen radioactive packs at the base and by the time I noticed, almost everyone had a critical toxic buildup.
In my defense, I will say that there were several raids, a caravan and imperial "helpers" who were constantly trying to break something or kill someone. And btw, all my colonists except one had 80% environmental tox resist from vac helmets (there was toxic fallout, lol)

Didn't expect this shit to be 10 times more toxic than the nuclear waste from Rimatomics.
This is a military grade weapon of mass destruction. Good to know.

I am working on a small mod that adds a new 'gravcore fuel rod' that can be loaded into a 'gravcore power matrix'. Right now it's a 2x1 building with space for 10 'gravcore fuel rods' with slots that light up when filled. Cost is 1x gravcore, 20x gravlite panel, 2x adv component, 20x hyperweave, 100 gold, built at fabrication bench, 10k work. Power matrix is stuffable, 100 of whatever + 5 components. All buildable with adv. gravtech research. Total power output 12000W fully loaded.
Any suggestions or feedback? I'm just making this for me at this point, but I would release it if anyone is interested. Never made a mod before, but having little 1200W 1x1 mini generators all around my gravship is ugly so I decided to do this.

I got one of those charity "help I'm being chased by wild animals" quests and the pawn was a sanguophage (I gave my ideologion the anti-sanguophage precept for whatever reason) and ended up having to tank negative opinion no matter what because ignoring the quest would give a mood malus, letting her stay would be an even bigger one, and evicting her (which is what I did) ALSO gives a mood malus.

On the flipside it also gives you a random mood boost for giving beggars like 20 silver worth of shit or just randomly. in that same playthrough a fucking Orc of all things crashlanded in a pod, got up and limped off because he just had minor injuries, and I got a mood bonus for "helping" him

I used various biotech mods to create monsters/mutants, Alpha biomes for Ocular biome, World Edit to edit the world, Xenotype spawn control for making set faction into a monster faction
As for the Larp, i was rolling a dice from time to time to see if the "corruption" spreads across the world, stronger monsters had higher chance of spawning based on how "corrupted" the world is. I used the dice to see if other survivors across the world successfully defended against the flesh monsters
I also devmode built in flesh creature dwellings that i had to destroy. Used Give up your building mod to unclaim the structures so the enemy doesnt destroy their own stuff

They're quite overpowered but I don't use them. This biome in general is busted, the special rainbow wood has 180% opening speed for doors (basic wood has 120% for reference). Unicorns have 220% caravan riding speed, they also together with the bunnies yield heavy fur. The pink crystals can be destroyed for pink crystal which is extremely valuable and can be farmed by breeding the crystal crabs. The only downsides to this biome are that all animals have 100% revenge and tame chance so not manually hunting is very risky, especially unicorns will fuck you up. There is also periodically a rainbow event where for a period there is a chance of animals and pawns going berserk.

Putting Walk the Map to the test. Can't find a way to bring penned animals like donkeys that are normally pack animals. Tried to bring a giddyup-ridden animal to the edge of the map and pawn left without it. At the moment if I'm to use this mod, it's to walk without animals.

I decided to have 1 pawn caravan out with 2 donkeys and a gorillo, and the other walk.

The event is not so bad, it doesn't happen very frequently. Worst thing that happened is one of my colonists lost an arm when I had to beat her down. Personally I recommend Gulden biome which will get updated to 1.6 soon if you're looking for more interesting biomes.

The animal pens are temporary because I was rebuilding the rest of the base and needed some room. There'll also be a huge slaughter very soon.

In regards to the base, avoiding big squares and heavy use of planning extended carried me. If I realised I'd made a square, I'd cut a corner off or make a little porch or something, it doesn't have to be a lot.
