i don't know if the comparison is fair but the game is a tower defense like kill all orcs, i genuinely can't remember any other tower defense-like game like fortnite, MAAAAAAAAAYBE the horde mode from gears of war, but this one focus a lot more on building

I've loaded into br a few times (unranked) and I've seen lots of "1v1" that last a long time, they just stare at each other shooting each other but never hitting themselves, and this lasts a looooooong time since lots of times I chase the fight in a car with nitro and it takes about 20 seconds to get there and they're still at full health+full shield and when I shoot them they just ignore me or simply start jumping while still shooting

If you are then you can farm those rewards in Rocket Racing, Ranked Reload, and in Ballistic too in the low ranks and your overall progress is tied to the same progress meter for the ranked rewards.
Also yeah you've been here for a bit so you get the gist of the game, when the balancing isn't wacky its fun! Build is a whole can of worms though that honestly you need to look up guides and other videos for. Think of it as the equivalent to learning a fighting game. It has a ton of technique to it and its very hard to master. It looks fun is all I can say since I stay in my ZB cube too. This general when it isn't shitting itself is pretty pro ZB so be aware of that for future reference.
I'm about to dip to play the game myself but imo you should get into ranked earlier than later before everyone masters what the season has to offer or it just gets worse which is very very likely.

Unpopular opinion: I like "faceless" skins. Helmets, masks, etc. I can't really stand the ones that have uncovered faces.
