Honestly I don't even know what kind of mechanics a large scale raid could have that would excite me anymore. The only thing I really "miss" are those mechanics that would separate the groups and give them little opportunities to flex. Oddly, the newest dungeon does this on the second boss and I enjoy it a lot for that. I was bummed that they never did that in the allyraid, sort of like how puppets bunker lets you "compete" to see which team can kill their personal robot quickest. It's nothing ball busting, just a little added enjoyment. Instead all I do is dodge the same aoes and mumble "bullshit" to myself when some frantic retard runs his shit into me at the last second.

In FL, DRKs get marked and will be watched by at least a half-dozen opponents if they're telegraphing their dives. That's why you see DNCs premaking with them to ensure the crowd control sticks, or crafty ones doing things like using the elevation on Shatter to actually surprise enemies.
Focus Target is also a very commonly used thing which makes it easy to pick out and instantly throw crowd control at someone I've selected, as soon as they get in range.
DRKs are also at the extreme vanguard, which means even slow-twitch players can select nearest enemy or even just rotate the camera down to close range to target them right away.
I don't think more needs to be said DRKs eating heavy, instant focus in Frontline.

More broadly, speaking as someone who hasn't even used a ping fixer, most of the cheats supposedly out there are awful. "Rotation bots" do nothing a novice player can't do, Auto-Guard is bad especially against jobs like NIN and MCH, Auto-Purify was never good and just got even worse with the 7.3 changes.
Target lines seems like it would be alright in theory except that it operates on the game's target system, which anyone who's used Peeping Tom will know is a second or two behind actual targeting. If there's a NIN "auto LB," I could see that being decent since it's still a snapshot ability, but even then I doubt the impact is that big (and if we're talking Frontline, every melee job has a potential mini-execute now in Smite).

Understandable. The new player experience is just in a really bad spot and the economy is totally inflated and wrecked because of solo FCs printing free money for years now. For crafters and gatherers, you really won't be looking at making much money until you're max level and even then, it's very competitive because of rampant botting. You could, however, possibly carve out a niche earlier if you want to do market research and supply housing items that are in demand. That's not really an easy task because supply and demand fluctuate, and they require lots of random mats to make. But, at least you can make a lot of house stuff without having max level crafters.

You could also look at purchasing those mats instead of mining them yourself, they are probably cheaper than buying the dye directly. By the way, do you know you can switch between servers on your datacenter? They might be cheaper on a different world, so you should shop around if you want to be frugal.

The end game for crafter/gatherer is having all of them maxed out and being able to make all of the parts they need from each other. Carpenter is probably your best bet for making housing items though, although the other crafters also make some too.

Man, the marketplace addon is such a blackpill, because it shows you when the last time was that someone actually purchased the item in question on your server. And on my world, I'll literally get a jackpot item and be all excited until I see that the last one sold like 25 days ago or some shit.

The thing with crafting in this game is that it's a "do them all or do none" sort of deal, look at pic related, this is a chest piece for tanks, you need those materials to make it with an Armorer crafter.

The nugget? A blacksmith makes it
The felt? A weaver
The gargantua leather? Leatherworker
The Gemsaps? Alchemist

With the exception of Culinarian, all other crafters will need crafts from other crafters in order to get something made.
