I think I figured Blade out now.
Blade is there to fill a niche.
You know how when someone dived the enemy backline, and your team is not doing anything?
Blade will now be the one that do the needed things when the enemy's backline is getting dived and harass.
He can immediately close into enemy tank and start slashing like crazy, and even second dive into the enemy backline if necessary, or block and get back if the dive ran off.
He's basically replacing tank in taking spaces in a split second, so you can create space for your dive.

No you didn't. Your entire gameplan and win-condition is to stay at 8-12m and headshot all day. Everything else in your kit is to counter your enemy attempt to stop you from doing this.
Even max stacks Awakening, your melee DPS is still lower than your shotgun spam by a little and you just die to any competent diver at zero stacks unless you save your sword dash to duel them.
Silver bullet is the only other thing in your kit that you can be proactive about and even then it's only useful if the enemy over extends and you know how the -40% antiheal will kill the enemy with coordination from your team because you get out of your sweet spot with it.

I was the same, I tried maining wolverine and had a decent amount of success with him, but then decided to go with squirrel girl for a laugh and because I'm pretty good at hitting direct pipes in TF2 and, the amount of effort wolverine took compared to squirrel girl is night and day when you can aim with her. Reminder that EOMM is literally an IQ check. If you believe it exists, then it should be very easy to train the system however you want. Play more when you win, play less when you lose. Give more thumbs up and type "gg" only after wins. Quit immediately after 2 losses in a row. Take longer breaks in between booting the game if quitting after losses. And so on.

The only people EOMM negatively affects are morons with no self-control who rage queue after losing.

I have a smurf account I've dubbed the toddler because I play it with a wheel and pedals. Talking about 2% accuracy on widow and a second or two to make a 180 control setup.

The game more or less matches me with similar players but often throws a lvl 100 spiderman to farm us because apparently he has to feel good too and we are too young to realize what's happening so everyone's happy.

To me my experience confirms two things about the system in place:

Isn't SBMM preferable in ranked? I'm new to ranked competitive games but it seems like Ranked should be SBMM and Quickplay should have near zero matchmaking influence. Even EOMM would be excusable if it was just quickplay. It's different in a game like Valorant where the skill across characters is a tertiary thing, and the core gameplay gun skill is >85% of the game. Contrast with Overwatch, with its SBMM and where most characters are still using FPS skills but the difference between player skills on roles/characters is so vast that the matchmaker can't really account for it in a way that makes the game fair. It's like balancing a hundred variables.

As a result the SBMM cuts corners, and you get the worst sort of "crab bucket" elo hell rank system because the easiest way for the game to balance someone rising too quickly (i.e. it not taking them months and months to go from silver to grandmaster solo q) is to put lower rated players on their team CONSISTENTLY - because 4 golds and 2 diamonds = 6 plats, right? Lol. And that's just what you see on the front-end. Especially also-also when one of those golds is the healer who plays a shit character and the plat healers play the current meta healer. Etc. etc. variables, variables.
P.S. I mention Overwatch not merely because it has SBMM (last I played it anyway) but because Marvel has 5-10x more character variables because of the huge diff between characters. Marvel has actual melee only characters, dive-ier divers, tankier tanks. etc.

EOMM is the fascism/feudalism to SBMMs democracy. Sounds worse and seems shitty when you're on the receiving end of its tyranny, but SBMM still results in you getting raped more consistently and having less agency in doing so.

Not him but I don't think you understand very well what SBMM and EOMM are. First of all, these platinum, gold, diamond ranks things are abstractions built on top of matchmaking, not the real matchmaking algorithm.
A SBMM algorithm just has a rating system (can be glicko, elo or something of the sort) then matches players together. Games where there are roles you might add a role check and balance them, this is extremely trivial to do. Most importantly, a SBMM algorithm DOES NOT look to make your winrate 50%, your winrate becomes close to 50% because you're being matched with people close to your skill rating.

All these other extraneous things are just EOMM bullshit. Like adding a high player skill variance (carry players and deadweight players) attempting to balance out your winrate, tossing easy games your way after tough losses, etcetera, these are things done to increase engagement.
This game has a ton of stomps because gaming psychologists realized that people are more likely to log out after a drawn out game (win or lose) than after a stomp. Hence why the game is like this.
This is Netease. There isn't ANYTHING about this game that isn't optimized to increase spending.

We need more vanguards, DPS is already overrepresented in the roster so there's no need to incentivise people to play them, nor is there a need to double up on similar roles/kits.
