Does anybody actually like the colour grading? Tajikistan isn't even overcast so why's it colour graded / rendered so blue? As far as I can tell they don't even have the dynamic simulated cloud coverage weather of BF1 that changed the colour grading to match the cloud coverage (clear to totally overcast), and they wouldn't be able to do that either with these filters
Tajikistan soil and outcroppings literally don't like they are from Tajikistan because we play on an open sky map with the colour grading of an overcast or late/early afternoon with the sun obstructed by partly cloudy conditions

I'm almost certain as well that they only did this, and didn't reuse the cloud cover system from BF1, because they had to go with pre-baked shadows for performance reasons
The D objective on Liberation Point (lower village) is pre-baked shadows and with a filter / grade it looks comically blue, outcroppings become almost tarred ground black

When you play on a colour accurate, professionally calibrated monitor, it looks painful, washed out and grey against an open sky with sun glaring in your face

When you bring up blue, you desaturate other colours as well, and you reduce colour depth, affecting overall clarity. Even with the aggressive highlighting black and tan (enemies) are blending into the shadowed faces of outcroppings really well

These fucking challenges force playstyles upon people which in turn cause disruptions in the game. For example, 2042 had multi-kill challenges and guess what? It caused literally everyone to run around with mines and c4 which resulted in a complete breakdown of gameplay the entire week.

That's not what it normally does though. In my experience having a couple good games would put me into multiple lobbies where my entire team is mouthbreathers while the enemy team is all CODgods who have a shitbucket. However a lot of people bitching about it do genuinely just want curbstomp lobbies 24/7. I like playing games where both teams are more evenly matched because when I do top the scoreboard it feels like I actually accomplished something. Also I swear I got like 10 ez mode matches in a row one time after I paypigged for a cosmetic bundle. Activision does have a patent for matchmaking that incentivizes spending money after all.

alright nobetatards, now that there's nothing to do, lets analyze the Phantom Squad skins. They are holding Knight's Armament KS-1 rifles adopted as the L403A1-AIW by the British Armed Forces. We know that one of the subfactions for the NATO faction is United Albion (Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, UK), so this tracks. However the KS-1 Rifle is not in the leaked list of weapons. So will this weapon be in the game, and if so, how? Here are the possible options:
1. It's not in the game, and this image was made by the marketing team with an asset that they have but aren't actually implementing in the game
2. It will be in the game as a unique weapon, but it's not in the leak list (perhaps because it's exclusive to the Phantom Edition skin pack)
3. It will be in the game as a skin for the M4A1 carbine. We haven't seen any skins that actually change the model of the gun, but it's possible


Note that in addition to the gun itself, there are unique attachments: The KAC suppressor, the Vortex Razor AMG Super Short Scope, the Aimpoint Acro red dot on top of the scope. Now these could also be unique skins for the: "Standard Suppressor", "DVO 5.00X" scope, and the "Canted Reflex Sight" (the sight being on top of the scope instead of mounted 45 degrees on the side would require a custom animation).

Also note that handguard has an empty picatinny rail section on the right side. This tracks as the M4A1 in the beta has a "Right Accessory" option (although in the beta there were no attachments available for this, probably for flashlights which aren't in the beta but may be in the full release as in the settings menu there is a keybind for activating flashlights).

Thoughts? My theory is option 3, it will be a unique skin for the M4A1, along with it's unique attachment skins.

actually I need to revise this. We actually have seen unique weapons skins that change the model of the gun, not just the color. In this image the top right tan gun has a unique skull receiver as well as a unique skeletonized grip with multiple finger grooves, so it seems like the developers aren't just making color changed only skins

im pretty sure the "leaked" weapon list is the guns on launch, so this will most likely be seasonal content as a weapon release, its way too detailed with attachments to not be in game, the weapons themselves also have that "clean" look to them where they have not added the scratched poly count layer to them where they have a worn out used look to them so its early images of them

Idk if I'm retarded but I literally cannot enjoy BF4 anymore after 6. I've been playing BF4 all this year and usually I have fun and don't feel there's that much missing. But after the first BF6 weekend, going back to 4 is pain. All that happens in literally almost every single match is that a tank comes out of nowhere and kills me meaning I can't do any cool or smart play around the map. And when this doesn't happen, its some tryhard jump shooting all over the place because BF4 has zero recoil so the best strat to winning is cosplaying as a quake nerd. Doesn't help that SIC servers have been cheater infested lately.
BF6 was so comfy in comparison. Regardless if I was trying to play medic or spec ops recon or vehicle focused, it was always fun, I never got my fun killed by tanks, or jump shooters, or other annoying shit.

Back in the day if you bought a limited or premium edition yeah you'd maybe get some exclusive skins but the real value was you were paying upfront and usually at a discount for future DLC map packs, and maybe even early access to them at that.

i have thousands of hours in overwatch and i have never intentionally opened the battle pass menu

How do you feel about gun customization? Last weekend when I played I felt like pretty much every gun was the same. Either its a base gun with no attachments cause they're leveling up, or it's just got the same grip and scope every single time.

Obviously it's just a beta but it feels like all the weapons and attachments are the same. You have like 2-3 foregrips that are all pretty much exactly the same or just upgrades to one another so theres no reason to use anything else. Would definitely like some more meaningful stat changes from the attachments. Would love to turn single fire rifles into perfectly stable taping machines, SMGs into hipfire bullet hoses, etc. Not just "slightly better handling cause I have foregrip 2 on"

These two games have entirely different ways of implementing recoil. BF4 is more classic FPS like where ur gun and bullets go up as you fire following a select pattern. BF6 follows the more recent method of having the gun visually kick back into you as you fire and the bullets have spread and a have random inaccuracy to them to simulate recoil from the gun kicking. The 1st more classic method's fault is that if you pull down on your mouse (like even babies know to do in a fps), guns are laserbeams and make it so aim sweats can completely dominate every encounter and opponents cant deal with them because their firing is perfectly accurate. The second method is more intuitive and easier to control at first, but the fact the gun has recoil that will always be present regardless of how much you control the gun, means that ur opponent always has a chance to get you because ur bullets won't fall in the same spot every time. Each game has ways to make guns have very little "recoil" but this different is why BF4 looks like it has more recoil but in practice it barely has any recoil compared to 6.
