I agree to an extent, the Emerald's abilities should be ambiguous.
The emeralds restored the nature of Green Hill, sealed Iblis, guided Sonic's soul back, and mysteriously disappear to reenter the world at the center of a chaotic location.
That and they seem to lend themselves to being an energy source pretty easily.
But Super form absolutely is a trio thing and the only people who don't like that aren't Sonic fans.

Imagine: you’re born in a literal hell world. You have great strength, but try as you might, every time you kill the cause of the hellfire, it comes back. Despite that, you fight forever, clinging on to hope so much you may as well turn insane at some point.

How does a character like that flop? There are only two core reasons.

The critical failure of the gameplay, and the English voice actor. If these two things are adjusted, Silver’s debut is given the respect it very much deserved.

2 other changes I’d make that may be beneficial to his optics and staying power:
1. make Silver’s theme song be the LB vs JS version instead of the original, it’s a better pace
2. The Chaos Control kick unfortunately has to go, as awesome as it is, Shadow has NO moment like that in his debut story. Blaze doesn’t either. Surge does! And look how that turned out. It’s not a helpful debut optic.

06 Amy is not really any different from Adventure or Heroes, character-wise. Amy in both 06 and Unleashed feel like the same Amy.

Heroes Amy is directly following up on where her story left off in Adventure 1, in terms of her core motivation and what she's resolved to do. She wants to prove herself to Sonic, she wants to be stronger, she wants to be someone that Sonic would love and respect and stuff like that. That's what she decided in SA1, that she didn't want to be a burden anymore, she didn't want Sonic always rescuing her. And so, Heroes has her literally declaring that she'll defeat Eggman first before Sonic does, believing that to be a way to make Sonic "fall in love with her again", after the initial Team Sonic v Rose encounter didn't go so well. And that encounter is largely Amy directly trying to show Sonic how much stronger she's become. Believing that this moment would be where she'd finally get him to fall for her completely, after seeing how much she's grown and changed or whatever.

It was never "I'm gonna beat you up until you marry me", it was "Look at me, aren't I your dream girl now?"

Later games like 06 pretty much keep that momentum with Amy, especially with how she's directly chasing him down from continent to continent just to be part of his life, and being an active force in each adventure as much as she can.

Heroes Amy is a strong and powerful leader through being the exact same person she was in Sonic Adventure, driven by love and compassion that she wears on her sleeve motivated by how much she loves Sonic the Hedgehog.

Sonic Heroes is Amy Rose in her purest form as the next chapter of her story from Sonic Adventure 1. I'm not going through all her lines in Heroes again right now, I've done that before in great detail and I've got better things I wanna get to right now. The point is if you've played the game yourself and have working eyes and ears, it's very obvious.

Amy's core motivation in Sonic Heroes is earning Sonic's respect, and hopefully love, by showing him how much stronger and independent she's become since before. And the active goal for the Team is reuniting Cream & Cheese and Big with Chocola and Froggy, who were initially believed to be with Sonic. So, they confronted him about it, and found that he didn't have them at all. During that encounter, she directly wanted Sonic to see how much stronger she's become, believing that this would make him want to marry her. But the fight didn't end well so the team enters Casino Park disappointed. So, Amy resolves that they should go after Eggman directly, blaming Eggman for all of their problems, and believing that if she can defeat Eggman before Sonic does, Sonic would fall for her completely. Amy's determination and enthusiasm is what keeps Cream, Cheese and Big motivated and inspired to follow her through each zone, even when their own confidence starts to dwindle.

In Sonic Adventure, Amy realized how much of a burden she was on Sonic for him having to rescue her all the time, and she didn't like that. After reuniting Birdie with its family, she realized that she can do things all by herself and so she declared that she'll do whatever she can to earn Sonic's love and respect, and "by then, it'll be too late" or whatever. She wants to be the strong heroine that can do things all on her own, and believes this is the key to winning Sonic's heart. This same motivation is directly present in the stuff Amy says throughout Heroes, as I've highlighted.

Her development was never reset because Amy in each following game is treated as another capable, playable character that can do things herself and her mindset has not changed at all. The main point of her story in SA1 was not being a damsel anymore, and in Heroes she wants to earn Sonic's respect. By now, she has both. She's as strong as the other characters, and Sonic definitely respects her nowadays. 06 even has her directly coming in to save Sonic from Silver, and Sonic trusted that Amy could handle it. That one moment is a direct reversal of what Sonic & Amy's dynamic was like in the past.

Unleashed being the point where Sonic can actually accept going on a date with Amy also showcases how much Amy has grown up until that point, since that conversation happening in and of itself says it all.

In movie 2 Tails knows a lot about Sonic's life just like with Yuta in the manga. He also has more of a focus on math/numbers in his early dialogue in the manga, which iirc was also in the movies. I don't think it's ooc but I hope it doesn't become overplayed
