What is the comfyness factor of this game? When it comes to these long term survival games, comfy factor is VERY important to me. It's why I've only really ever gotten into Project Zomboid and The Long Dark because they achieved very high levels of comfy

Don't forget that combat skills need to be used to increase your capabilities.
I enjoy the fact that the first ranged weapon is a cobbled-together crossbow with pens as bolts and the aim dot wobbles all over the place until you gain skill.
Cooking, crafting, discovery of new tools, building defenses, maintenance of the player character from water, food, having to shit, radiation, heat/cold, base attacks, searching every nook and cranny. Its a shame some people don't give this game the time of day.

I saw a thread for it yesterday, peaked into the thread, saw praise for a game I've literally never heard of, and decided to give it a go. Wasn't impressed with the tutorial but when the actual game started I was fucking hooked. Love the art style and atmosphere, and I love that the crafting recipes are actually fun to make. Its comfy. Everything is pretty much at your own pace. You can farm, completely design your base (according to how much room you have) and can even pack up tables/cabinets/chairs/sofas and take them with you and put them in your base. You can put arcade machines in your base. Same with televisions. Build your own stoves, collect and boil water for drinking, there is a sleeping mechanic in the game as well. It is a very simple "press W to hop over the monster" mini-game, but its something rather than just hands off waiting for your character to wake up. You can break stuff down for base materials, you can even make paints and paint whatever. Make signs, armor, weapons, containers to hold water, cooking pots - lots of stuff.

I am never, ever into these types of games but I watched a single 20min video and had to try it out and was hooked.
I really enjoy that there is a window of time where the power is out - that with the power is out, some areas become accessible due to large cooling fans being powered down, or the robots. I really enjoy the in-fighting between different factions of enemies. Its a good game.

These are the kinds of games I can usually only play with a group. My friends are ready to start it this weekend, but I've already gotten up to the reactors solo. The game is amazing and deceptively large & the looping level design is executed masterfully. The world is also surprisingly interesting.

For me its about the exploration. The starting zone is like a dark souls nexus and as you go to each rather vast area searching for emails, recipees, and keys/ways to unlock more areas you will find major and minor shortcuts to help you. So far I usually preferred to take the tram to go back to Manufacturing and walk to Wildlife pens to go into containment. Each 'biome' like that has had a major portal to an alternate universe but theres also a few other portals to find to smaller locations with resources. Sometimes if im low on healing stuff i will hit up the location with alien wheat so I can craft more syringes.

Its good level design if you like making a map in your head. Theres usually creative options for sneaking or for crafting your way up to new places.

Don't worry, go to the 2nd floor of cblock to get to Adjustment. Explore the first floor of cblock a bit more and you'll find some leads there too. My friend and I played nearly 30h based up in the little aquarium area out in the offices next to cblock and it ended up being the best base ever all the way to end game.

It's very very late game though. You get the materials for the Teleport Pad at the second to last area. Honestly just stick with Personal Teleporters. I want to base in that building at the far side of Hydroplant that has the cafeteria, exercise area, offices, etc, because it looks super cozy, but there's also 10 Exors that spawn there. If I put down a crafting bench will that prevent enemy respawns around it? Will I need multiple benches to cover the whole area?

You can also chain 1 battery to 1 triple extension cord (forgot the in-game name for it) to 3 other batteries to their devices. The math gets weird after a point, so it's best to use a guide
