ok im ready to start my early ironman mage jad attempts today. This is the loadout and stats i will be bringing. Note i only have 48 prayer as i boosted with ancestral mace.

The only stats which i think you must have are maybe 68 magic and 45 prayer, for earth wave and mystic might. I'm bringing a couple magic essence pots as with 72 magic i can boost to 75 magic when i want a bit more extra damage as 75 is a dps increase threshold to water wave as it unlocks firewave.

Probably the biggest upgrade an early iron could get for the build is a water tome. It adds an incredible almost 33% increase in dps in fight caves, I think it way out dps's the usual runecbow build most people use. But that could be a lot of grinding at tempoross and i want to proof of concept without it. Could also put rada's blessing 2 in ammo slot but its only 1 prayer and i haven't done the quests yet for the diary. Other than that infinity robes from MTA or ahrims from barrows would be good upgrades that are easily attainable with some grinding.

This will be the first time i try fight caves ever so i hope i get it as blood runes are very expensive.

with melee you only have to go back and forth instead of having to go side to side as well with a crossbow because of it's slower attack speed and only having 1 row per side that's out of attack range (blowpipe is the same as melee)

personally i find ranged easier because if you go in with a fang the 5 tick delay on it means you need to walk back 3, run in 2 (or run back 2, walk in 3) each time you attack meaning you are ctrl walking so its more effort as opposed to the ranged walking where you just swap to blowpipe and click on/off/on/off alternately, ranged seems brainless while melee is more to do
