Looking at Morganite and Dominus cards and Konami shilling the turn-0 playstyle in decks recently, how long do you guys think it’ll be until we get effects like the one in pic related?

Imagine revealing a card at the start of the game and suddenly the playstyle of your deck changes they could really do some fun experiments with that mechanic.

Either card is systematically fucked because Side Decks exist.
The only way it could possibly function is if at the start of the Duel, you reveal Genn Greymane and your opponent gets to look through your entire Deck to verify. This is of course braindead stupid because your opponent can see your entire Deck, all your tech cards and likely guess based on missing ratios what you EXACT hand is. Whatever effect you would gain would need to be astronomically powerful.
If such effects were ever implemented, I would love to see some sort of Hydralander Structure Deck filled with 1-ofs designed specifically for highlander decks that only function when you deckbuild correctly as opposed to the current Hydralanders that are guaranteed in highlanders decks but still function outside them with luck

My headcanon is that "Dia" is the feminine version of "Dio" which means God and "Belle" simply means beautiful which tracks which Diabell being a divine figure lorewise. When you put together, you get "Goddess Beautiful" or "Beautiful Goddess" or as a title "Divine Feminine" which is a thing found in occult studies of magic. Literally everything about the format is screaming at you to not actually play it. It's baffling Konami shat that out yet also never gave it a second thought after that.
It's clearly meant to give a Commander-like game mode to try and get some of that success rubbed off but being 1v1, lacking any form of alternative deckbuilding and a ruleset that actively needs you to avoid playing the gimmick of the format just makes the entire thing pointless.

The above changes make the format more interesting to build around, differentiates it from standard play and allows players to get the fun times of playing their Deck Master without turning Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit into a 0TK

The funniest part is the above formats don't even EXIST in EU Yugioh. Time Wizard does though, but none of the others. You can't find the rules anywhere.

One thing with alt formats is that it seems like it's mainly just a request from the West since the OCG likes broken shit to the extent their most popular "alt format" seems to be no banlist tournaments. Konami seems way more invested in appealing to the OCG than the TCG so they probably just don't see value in alt formats.
My alt format theorycrafting that is based primarily off the idea that Adamancipator is able to do ridiculous crazy shit that the players of the game enjoy, but also is an extremely xenophobic deck and its primary problem cards are NOT the Adamancipators, but the searchers like Doki Doki and Block Dragon. With that in mind, the alt format centers on two core changes, one in deckbuilding and one in rules but every other aspect of the game is likely able to be unchanged
>the main deck must contain at least 25 uniquely named cards (for every 2 cards you go above 40, at least 1 must have a new unique name)
>all search/summon/foolish etc. type effects only look at the top 5 cards, after performing the action the rest go on the bottom in the same order
It does kind of break modern archetype design over its knee but most new archetypes would still be playable, if you dedicate more of the deck space to them. The "minimum names in deck" is placed to push for playing more weird tech cards since it's deliberately above the number of different cards that tournament-viable decks play (it's about the same number of unique cards as Tactical Try Decks).
I'd like a format where you might actually have shit like your main deck monster's stats mattering and the idea that your combo can be stopped in its tracks by excavating wrong would be a way to do it. A deck being liable to hit the breaks mid-combo raises the skill expression with that players needing to be more aware of the order of cards in their deck and do weird sequencing based on what they are statistically more likely to see in their next 5.

Legit make a DUDE2 but do the following

>Include some packs of a recently released set (DUAD in this example, further justifies the higher cost)

Special Detonator, revive Dillingerous, link for Borrelend, and then use Fatal Flare + Detonator to summon Tris and make Shroud or whatever else you want to do with the material. With Revolver I liked the concept of a ygo rival that genuinely cared for his dying father despite the mistake he caused due to sheer hubris and although he didn't know what was going to happen, objectively Revolver helped to ruin Yusaku's life from an early stage. Maybe my positive view of him was exaggerated from how Vrains struggled so much with a lot of other things, but I liked watching Revolver's episodes and I don't remember feeling nagging distractions or like I had to force myself to sit and watch. He had a presence that felt more consistent and upfront compared to what was before him. Reiji carried a certain presence too when he showed up to actually duel, but he was like a fading phantom in his show. In a shounen that struggled less to simply not fall apart and is more well rounded, that idea for a MC and rival connection probably would've hit harder
