Havocs are to blame. The icon zealot "support" is a common sight there and its genuinely useful. But issue is that there's now retards who think that all they need to do is to bring the icon and maybe corruption cleanse. And beyond that their job is done. I dont even recall when I saw a fotf zealot the last time.

But yeah its particularly silly because when you bring this "support" build its very important to be even more active in melee. You gotta do extra work to make up for the loss in offensive potential. Icon zealot should be using it to gap close into packs of gunners before tearing them to shreds. But these modern cuck zealots just sit next to their team, use the icon and then do nothing.

Its very similar to some shout vets I see. They just never take out their power sword to cut through mixed hordes. Instead they just shout and try to avoid melee. Awful.

Because psyker has a lot of noob traps that inhibit advanced play. Namely, bubblecucking + smite.

Psyker has a high skill floor and high skill ceiling, but bubblecucking and smiting all game doesn't really require much skill at all. Up to Auric, simply spamming these two abilities brings more net benefit than being a shitty purge + shriek psyker and going down all the time. The result is that about three-quarters of psykers even on the highest difficulties haven't experimented with builds, they just use two defensive abilities while hiding behind a melee bodyguard and slowly stumble into difficulties which ostensibly far outpace their individual capability to manage hordes without constant assistance.

Finally, good psykers use the staff most of the time for most games (there are exceptions, of course, but typically the staff is the best option for horde engagement), and the staves don't have a block/push and limited mobility. This means their spacing is really important, and a minor mistake can lead to a psyker getting surrounded and downed very quickly. This is why it's important for psyker players to practice microquelling while sliding, using the secondary ability while sliding, and other mobility stuff while the staff is in their hands. Very, very few psykers on Auric (and even Havoc, unfortuantely) take the time to practice this.

Realistically, it could be any number of reasons.
There are players who only ever play one class. I don't mean playing their main to level 2000 and leaving the others at like 100 or whatever, I mean not even making a second character at all. Never mind how this means that they will never understand what other classes even do, this most importantly means that they'll never realize what bad habits they've developed playing only that class and never leaving their comfort zone. How many vets have you seen that fold to 3 poxwalkers because they only use their gun? Same shit for psyker.
Then you have to account for the fact that some players have actual intellectual disabilities. Not meme retarded, actually clinically retarded. They have no capacity to improve because it's already taking 100% of their concentration not blowing themselves up with peril, never mind learning the melee combat. It's how you arrive at smiggers.
Next, psyker is generally considered to be the hardest class to play, and retards tend to have massive egos. Tard psyker will remember the first time he solo clutched an auric by spamming smite into conveniently only melee enemies with no disablers spawning for an entire minute, knocking them over, and reviving the chorus zealot buying breathing room to revive everyone else. He is now married to that build.
The above kind of ego tripping also spawns individuals like that whiny fat bitch youtuber who kept giving retarded advice until he got bullied out of Darktide. Shit like saying peril block is a bad node because you shouldn't le block, completely disregarding how it can singlehandedly save runs by making for extremely save res opportunities, or the synergy with force sword projectile block. Double wall is alright. Certainly the best way to boost BB, but I don't think it needs much more support than EP. A single stack of the speed increase on ability use is usually enough to kill most things fast enough while EP is active.

With 6 warp siphon stacks BB can 1 shot ragers, gunners at medium peril. Now that the rending talent works it can 2 shot crushers at above 80 peril. Wasn't shitting on EP I just don't see the point.

EP makes BB significantly faster, you can just quickly swap over to it and pop something, then go back to doing your usual thing. Without support, it's painfully slow, and even killing snipers takes forever. The actual damage on the thing isn't nearly as important as the speed, though hitting breakpoints for killing lighter targets obviously does matter.
Also being able to just spam BB to kill a dozen shot/gunners that your retards would otherwise completely ignore and you otherwise can't reach with flame staff, is quite nice.

You have to pick the node for it and then you have to obsessively only go for 1-shots or lose charges. If there's a bulwark or two suddenly blocking your way you're fucked and lose EP. If you hold onto EP, by the time the bulwarks are gone you've already wasted the buff from your combat ability. I personally find it clunky to use in reality. With warp siphon if there's a crusher or bulwark in the way you just BB it to death first then continue with the small targets that are all 1 shots at that point because your warp siphon stacks are back up. It also shaves off cd from your wall which helps a lot.

Which you take on the way down to the 3 charges anyway. Left and center are fucking pointless anyway unless you're using Assail, and then you'd be using Assail lol. Even there, the elite kill node is better anyway.

Not an issue at all. You still get the faster BB for more damage. You don't even "waste" them on bulwark kills because that's now a dead bulwark, even if it costs you a charge.

It is, but you get used to it. I'd think of EP BB as explicitly being a Brain Burst build first and foremost, with everything else you do being extra. I find myself using BB at least half the time and using staff as a fallback for horde clear. In practice, it plays a lot different to what you might otherwise expect from a psyker, but it is still good.

I'd still prefer to see my psyker use WS just for the cooldown reduction. More bubbles and shrieks tend to be more valuable than popping a gunner that someone else should've taken care of. If you find yourself forced into that role, that's a team composition issue and should be solved before even looking at your build imo. Mandatory PVP time-attack game. It had no co-op modes until you've completely cleared the story mode where you then unlocked a weekly rotating PVE co-op challenge mission(yes just one and they were extremely difficult). There was an option to avoid the direct pvp that occurs after each team completes their mission but it was still a PVP time-attack game mode where you could be invaded by the other team using a Dinosaur control summon. Not to mention if you enabled the direct PVP option the game functionally had no co-op element because what decided if you won or lost was entirely the direct PVP portion so even if you aced the PVE portion, if you couldn't win the pvp half you lost whereas if you disabled the PVP round you could tie if you managed to complete the PVE portion within a minute of the enemy team.

Doesn't help that the official western livestream of the game was done by two guys dressing in drag or that the initial teaser trailer showed a bunch of dinosaurs and a red-headed woman leading people to think it was a Dino Crisis title only for them to announce two weeks later that "It has nothing to do with dino crisis" and is a $60 always online PVP exclusive game with a season pass AND battle pass. As you can see by the player count, nobody was interested in a PVP only time-attack team based hero shooter. It was also Capcoms most expensive title ever released at the time costing over $120,000,000 to produce.

So I was skeptical about Concussive for a while, but it's actually kind of surprising how good the talent is, in combination with Force of Will and, to a lesser extent, Forceful. Pretty sure I wouldn't have survived that without Concussive, but I ended up being mostly fine.
The rest was mostly having 2 health curios instead of toughnessmaxxing because I nearly got obliterated by flamer spam that I couldn't kill fast enough on my own.
Also True Grit is a retarded talent and probably the single strongest crutch in the game.

Also auric and havoc play so massively differently, they might as well be two different games. Not all builds that are good in havoc are good in auric, and most builds that are still good in auric are borderline non-viable in havoc. For example, flamer zealot is utter dogshit in aurics for no other reason than its inability to kill some snipers (throwing knives can only reach so far, are blocked by some fences, and will arc into ceilings) that your other 3 retards will ignore and will die to.

I'm going to explain the joke.

At the time, the halberd was one of the strongest weapons in the game. However its moveset wasn't particularly forgiving to novice players. If you were to simply spam light attacks, then it was a mishmash of different types of strikes that weren't particularly useful. However, by using the correct inputs, it was possible to cancel the attack chain and spam the fuck out of a vertical chop attack that was extremely potent at defeating elite targets. Lasgun is powerful enough to shoot off limbs but becomes a flashlight as soon as anything tougher than your average low rank mook's armor is put into the equation.
Tau pulse rifle has extreme range and accuracy and is described to be stronger than a space marine bolter but has far slower rate of fire and one fire warrior is nowhere on the same level as a space marine.
In the end though it doesent matter because warhammer lore is retarded and on some days a single imperial guard can solo a daemon prince while on others a chaos marine takes out 30 regular marines at once. Power sword is also "stronger" than dueling sword on veteran, though it depends. Uncanny Strike carries the DS because it allows for bleed grenade abuse. Get Skitarius (mod) if you don't want to deal with the special. It lets you force it to activate, which makes the weapon a lot more comfortable to use. If the guy that wanted to see how Razor Jaw did in H40 is still here I grabbed this from a H40 just now, Torrent Assassination with rituals and orange enemies. Only dog nodes are Voltaic, Razorjaw and Go Get 'Em, using Forceful/BtL so on EO it would do better. From my other scoreboards I think this is slightly above average, probably from pouncing thick groups of orange groaners. I also use it to trigger the double bleed damage on bosses before adding stacks with Boltpistol, I'm not sure where in the sheet that damage gets tallied.

from my experience, teams die either to monstrosities living too long, or gunners living too long. one of the two will be your run enders.
few builds to somewhat deal with this.
veteran with helbore so you have infinite ammo, the best anti-special pick potential and great boss damage and your teammates can spam their ranged weapons to their heart's content. and of course, voice of command. you can quickly kill every threat in the game, but your weakness is you are veteran so your melee is decent at best and you are squishy, so you need teammates to cover for you while you shoot.
arbites so you are a gigatank, you use bolter so you can melt bosses, but you won't be as good against specialists. you can also do mk3 exterminator but then your boss DPS potential is diminished.
ogryn with the ogrynheimer build, but your specialist pick potential also takes a dump, and gunners might bully you.
ogryn with a taunt + heavy hitter build, bully club for extreme safety, or karsolas or branx pickaxe for extreme boss killing and anti-armor. indomitable is also a great choice depending on map and comp, since it will give you opportunities to reposition and control chokes very efficiently. grenadier gauntlet will let you pick off specialists extremely efficiently and faster than the heavy stubber, because it has a faster swap and faster ADS, and it doesn't require a headshot to one-tap scab gunners and trappers.
