My biggest disappointment with collab characters is how much wasted opportunity there. It'd be interesting to see Merlin interact with Arc or get more Demon Hunter family lore from Shiki and have her interact with Oni. FGO is the only medium in which you can have this sort of interaction and have a unique context for exploring related lore.

This is a consistent problem I have with FGO as a whole. And a two-sided coin at that.
You have a bunch of servants from a group. What happens usually is either:
>Writer doesn’t do much with them because of autism involving them (Round Table)

It’s twice as bad with Collab characters because they get used so little that their canonical status gets arguable in the Main Story in spite if things like the 8th Pillar

Like personally the only like actually "bad" SSR we got this year are Komachi, because she has a poor choice of power mods, a bad attack stat in a class that isn't good for attacking, and doesn't do enough to compete with the established people in her group. So I would say she's bad.
You can also just go and look at people using the units, see what they can do.
Like personally after using Passionlip I think she's much better than Appmedia says she is, because she's basically unkillable for a long period of time and can put out a ton of damage, as well as work in farming teams. I'm not sure what appmedia thinks to put her in B for, but they're crazy for considering it.

The game has too many Servants and mostly the same artists. It also follows design patterns outdated in current days where people just want simple designs with a couple of stand out elements like your average BA slut or Hiro from Idolmaster.

Kinda, but it is more of a Shinjuku "Phantom Spirit" situation (I think her event mentions she was made for that singularity but was too unstable for use) cause the intent and method is different, Water Margin isn't real but Huyans Phantom Spirit was combined with Empusa (who is also unable to be a servant in normal circumstances) to game the manifestation rules.

She is basically the same type of servant as Hessian Lobo (IIRC Lobo is "Real", Hessian and Invisible Stat Stick Man are both fictional, Lobo is roided up compared to his historical self due getting boosted up by the other two) rather then Gogh. "Huyan" was male (but also a fictional character in universe), Empusa is female (but "real").
