Yes. They are attached to specific keypages, which means you are more limited in how you can abuse them and the strongest keypages in the game like PT and Night Awls can't run them at all. Yield my Flesh on every Night Awls keypage would actually be viable (3-8 can lose to way more things safely) and Focus Spirit not being tied to a mediocre keypage locked to one floor would give it place in every fucking build ever conceived. In fact, there would be no reason to ever run anything other than 2 Focus Spirits, 2 Ominous Power, 3 Spears and 2 deck thinners.

The only difference between ranged and other cards is order in which they go (mass > ranged > special > melee), how they clash with melee offensive dice (melee dice are moved to the end of queue and get reused) and how they clash with melee counter dice (ranged attacker does not get hit by them, but needs to either win the clash or end the engagement to actually remove the counter).

You can maybe reroll accounts until you get this new Hong Lu ID and a few Heishous or just go with whatever you get.
Outside of that... try to avoid pressing win rate too much maybe, or you'll get walled by the occasional hard fights when you get to them because you won't have understood any of the game mechanics.

Alright so I read Hong Lu's ID story, and how are some of you guys confused about him dying?
It's pretty clear that he died in the story, the Chronicler served the next ruler and that next ruler ordered the Chronicler to change Hong Lu's title into a better one since he made H Corp so much better for everyone to live in, and it's followed by a "flashback" again showing someone telling Hong Lu he needs to care for his health presumably because he's ill somehow.
I find it interesting how it keeps jumping across different points in time over this story.
What was that "Zheng Cheng Lu" thing though with the title change?
Was that supposed to be the name of the Chronicler or some weird translation thing and it was supposed to be how you read Hong Lu's self given title of Crimson Dew?

I do like how the story makes it a point to mention that though he did flood Hongyuan in a tide of blood, it was ultimately necessary to wash away the corruption and tyranny of the elites of Hongyuan which in the end left everyone better off.
