Had my first test run of the game with real players, went through one full round with no bugs and then it cursed one of the players with permanent blindness once a newjoiner started the game for a second time, it didn't go away even after player rejoin because nickname got saved as a variable in one of the objects and then it restored his broken state when he came back. Anyone else working on a minigame? Or at least planning to?

From a distance it can be hard to tell them apart but a general ranking seems to be: WonTon = Triturbo > Echno = Jerry >>> Fermata

HashEdits basically does whatever he thinks will look good. For example the meme lapwing FT has JawOpen modeled as :D instead of :O which means that the lapwing is really smiley but you will see in the video it cannot actually make an :O face at all.

HashEdits makes very good blendshapes but part of why the videos look good is that he is very good at using them too. The HashEdits lapwing FX is messy and there are a lot of very specific gates around some expressions. You will not be able to reproduce his results without changing min/max thresholds in the blendtree.

Either way tweaking the min/max thresholds will probably improve your experience with any FT. Load up an avatar that has Jerrys debug panel installed, note the values that you can comfortably make, then make those changes in the blendtree.

If you want to be able to use hand gestures with FT you might have to add a gate to the eye close blendtrees so that your eyes don't close double if you blink while using a gesture (put parameter drivers in your gesture controller to enable/disable eyeclose). Some templates have that already built in (WonTon, possibly others).

For all of my clothing fitting I use pose mode on the clothes to line up the root of every bone to the body's then use sculpt mode's f-grab tool to move the mesh only away or towards the body mesh so it isn't too loose or clipping. Then I just rename the bones so they match and reparent the armatures, reattaching the unique bones. Without moving the clothing mesh across the body you save on a shittone of weight painting. In fact you can save on any weight painting if you couple this with shapekey shrinking joints that are covered by your clothes.

We also have a new framework for making prefab games, the Mini Udon Game Interface (Mugi). It gives you a lobby system, scoring (both free-for-all and teams), and a time limit. You don't have to use it, but we think it'll help a lot. There's also a new project template and tutorial at https://jam.vrg.party/guides/tutorial , which will walk you through using all the systems we've set up. Give it a try; it'll (hopefully) be less painful than you think.

Submission are more like a booth at VKET. It can contain your entire minigame/prefab OR be an advertisement for your minigame if its another VRChat World or Standalone game. The public event will only live play the VRChat prefab minigames. Judging will include all submissions (prefab/world or standalone game), submissions must have a VRChat prefab to show at the event.

Your view ball may be too high above your head, it should be between where your eyes are. Also check if the model is being moved around in the Unity Humanoid setup screen, as this can shift the view position even if the viewball is in the right spot in the editor scene.

Even once you do this, anime girls generally will have very long legs and your trackers will not line up with your feet without a proportion edit, as VRC by default scales by arm length (this is a good thing) .

If you do not unpack the FBX in unity you can pretty much do whatever you want (including armature changes) and it will mostly work.

If you unpack the FBX you can overwrite it with mesh or shapekey changes but the naming and the heirarchy has to be exactly the same or it will break.

Two main ways:
You can replace the fbx directly in windows explorer to 'hotswap' it and it'll usually work fine (any changes to bones will need to be re-imported basically)
Also you can use pumkins tools and this is recommended for major changes. This can just copy all your settings from one scene object to another.

Whatever you do keep backups. Also use pumkins now and then regardless since then you can keep iterations and if you break something you have a known good to go back on.

you can also just import fbx seperately and then just swap the body mesh in the skinned mesh renderer to point to the new FBX mesh. If the armatures are the same it will just work, you might need to change the amount of materials in the unity materials array to match new mesh though.

is VR just not for me? what did I fuck up. for my headtracking set up (trackAI) I had a button on my throttle that I can press to reset the view to the center of the cockpit no matter where im looking at. Its probably my most used button on that thing because I could always change to a comfortable position on the go.

Don't push through being sick. If you start to get motion sick, take it off, give yourself 15 minutes to go piss, get a drink, and such. Parts from just a handful of guns being added to radius loot would expand the loot pools considerably and so far the game doesn't seem like it was designed for that level of loot variety.
