God, don't you love when you stim and during the time where you regen health, you take damage to the chest which causes a bleedout effect which bypasses the stim healing entirely, forcing you to waste another fucking stim due to those retarded bleedout changes? squids dont feel satisfying to kill, thats the reason.
you shoot bugs, you see them react to their limbs being blown the fuck off, you see gory goodness with every bullet. they also spazz out when you kill them, and explode into gibs with a big-enough weapon.

bots do the same. you see sparks flying and hear a nice metallic impact sound when you shoot them. troopers lock up when headshotted as their body goes haywire and still move around on the ground. devastators keel over with a burnt face, can be shot in the middle and have their top half fly off, or fall over dead and still move around.

squids, whoever, dont feel satisfying to shoot at all. they're a mass of grey goo. the closest shit they got to seeing a satisfying kill are the stingrays, maybe the harvesters. fleshmobs have their flesh chunks fly right off, but they show no effect to having done that. voteless either waddle around a bit when headshot / killed by arc damage, or look at their legs being blown off and thats it.

Like, maybe with or without Sony as overhead to fuck with decision making, but an actual small-scale live service game.
I imagine we'd have more mission modifiers but like remove the last seven warbonds. Planets with actual harsh rain that drowns out sound of you and the enemy, high winds that fuck with bullets and rockets and stratagems, planets with permanent damage over time but less cooldown on resupply.
Just cooler ideas, but there would've been less content. More about pushing us around and doing unique things on planets.

After being in a full party where everyone has the banana revolver on their hip I decided to use some different sidearms and I don't know why I haven't used the Ultimatum more. It gives you an instant fix for any elite enemies so you can have the rest of your loadout be for taking care of everything else.

I don't know. I will however share that I keep a bag of pepperoni in the freezer that I use to overload my frozen pizzas with extra pepperoni.

Also, if you have the kitchen space and budget for kitchen gadgets, I recommend getting your hands on a sous vide cooker and a vacuum sealer. Specifically the more expensive "chamber" style vacuum sealers. The chamber ones can seal using cheaper bags since they don't need the special air channels, and are capable of vacuum sealing liquids. On the weekend when I feel like cooking, I'll make a big pot of soup or chili. Then I'll portion out individual servings into the bags and vacuum seal them. Then I chill the bags in an ice water bath before drying them off and transferring them into my freezer. Then I'll have a bunch of servings of frozen soup/chili for days that I'm feeling lazy.

When it comes time to re-heat the chili, I just use the sous vide cooker to fire up the hot water bath and toss the bag of frozen chili into the water. Come back ~30 minutes later or so and you'll have a hot bowl of chili/soup ready to eat. It's a bit on the slow side, but it's zero fucking effort come meal day and there's no rush. Just spend the time shitposting and playing vidya. Or exercising/doing errands if you feel like being productive. If you get caught up in a mission, the soup stays fine even if you're an hour "late" or more. It's not going to boil over. It's not going to burn.

I also vacuum seal and freeze diced up steak, chicken, and peppers/onions. Make a batch of pico-de-galo and freeze servings of that too. Some nights I'll cook up a bowl of rice and then dump the reheated steak and veggies in too.

yeah drones take the heat off in so many ways. Gas is great vs bugs, bullet is better vs bots imo. I try different ones vs squids but laser seems to have constant uptime with voteless everywhere.
I don't have the arc one yet though. I figure it's best vs bots to keep the damage from bouncing too close.

You're using the AC wrong. Set it to flak mode. This will obliterate fleshmobs, oversaars, stingrays, voteless, and shield bubbles. Set it back to APHE mode for destroying UFO and killing harvesters.

I sometimes don't use a mic but was in a situation where someone had to break from the group to get to an objective but didn't want to take all the samples with him. He had absolutely no idea how to drop the samples.

We were running out of time and it takes a long time to type on a console controller so I... you know. Anyway I got kicked right away and I totally get it. I forget that some players are very much not into the whole expendable reinforcements and need to play differently than others.

In my head, we have 21 reinforcements I will just solve this real fast and toss your reinforcement towards the objective. No different than when someone is glitched and stuck in a spot.

I ended up making peace on it with the player, so all I can say is most don't take this game super seriously but sometimes other players do and its good to remember to respect that.

I ran into a situation tonight where I was out of stims, on my last magazine for my eruptor, out of grenades, and had damaged limbs. I called down resupply at the nest drill objective alongside two of my teammates... but before my beacon could hit the ground the third nigger called in the entire pod for himself in the middle of bumfuck nowhere.

I looked at my teammates, aimed my eruptor straight down, and pulled the trigger. They understood the assignment and respawned me right on top of my stuff and we completed the nursery drill without issue.

I just don't like the autocannon.

I think this game would be significantly improved if they added a stratagem where you can call in a super earth martyr woman who's crazy obsessed with you and will be your human shield at all times, but if you extract with her she gives you a kiss on the cheek and a lap pillow while praising you for your efforts
