Sabrina has a solid place in the game now, but requires other Hydro dolls to get competitive, but as a new player she has great action economy and can return fire when struck.
Faye is necessary to deal good physical damage, as while no enemies are naturally vulnerable to it, Faye inflicts Rend, a debuff identical to phase damage vulnerability for physical in every regard but for attachment bonuses. This will help units like your Littara, Groza, and other physical dolls like Yoohee and Ullrid do more damage. She will continue to be solidly on physical teams for at least another year or two given the current progression of CN vs Global updates.
Littara is weak, but she does lots of AOE, which has uses for non-sweatlord content.
They're all good fun in the story, though.

Burn is pretty low investment compared to the other teams since two of the heavy hitters are standard dolls. Corrosion is incredibly strong as well but a lot more heavy investment. The strongest team in the future is physical though.

Electric will be shilled a fair bit, but you can probably still beat everything with burn, corrosion and hydro.

There's some suffering, but it's mostly relegated to NPCs that we help, and not the protagonist or their closest companions. There's definitely some sobbing and heartfelt moments, but I wouldn't say it revels it in.
A couple of exceptions, like Peri's event went pretty close to sufferslop but it turned out okay in the end.
Overall the story has a fairly light mood about it, despite some people dying on the way. I'd give it a solid 5 on the suffering scale. (YMMV though, I don't have a lot of other games to compare it to.)

Need some advice on whether to roll for Nikketa and start making a hydro team.

ATM i have a burn team (v5 QJ + v1 Vector + Sharky) and a corro team (v3 Klukai + Mechty + Peritya). I also have v1r1 Springfield and v0 Tololo.

From what ive heard, Corrosion falls off quickly because Mechty and Peritya suck, and Hydro is much better. My original plan was to save up for v6 Klukai and use Corrosion + Burn as long as possible.

But would it be better to replace Corrosion with a full Hydro team and just use Klukai to AOE mobs? And if yes, should I just roll for Nikketa?
