it's fun on dota because there you have such reliance on vision and knowing what the enemy can't or cannot see at any time. there's no such a thing in deadlock, if someone isn't watching you, you're scot free to dash in and use it whenever. it's instant cast and the range is massive so there's no real counterplay there.

in reality lash is fun because he NEEDS the movement to pull that shit off. It's not just using your ult and blammo they're dead, the ult currently is the least useful part of his kit 90% of the time. You need to aim, jump, use his grapple, and get enough height for his 1 to do anything at all. Dynamo just presses the button and that shit goes halfway across the lane lategame for one billion damage, no movement or anything needed. Same with his heals, lash at least has to aim his and it's one tick, dynamo can just pop it and KEEP SHOOTING, while boosted and giving others heals too. The only engaging part of his kit is his blink and even that one is slow as fuck, a shittier version of Ivy's disjoint.

I've been experimenting with my builds lately. What do you think of this kind of speed/teambop?

Gun builds, bomb builds, ult builds, they're fun but I feel like bebop will always struggle in a 1v1 unless it's a weaker hero and you land your full combo. I find that just being able to be there at the right time, and run away if you need to serves much better and allows you to farm faster so if you are trying to be there for fights you aren't falling behind on souls.

It's kinda always been like this but right now it feels so important to be able to mobilise quickly, either to push an objective or to get to an engagement.

Think about overwatch and how many characters are genuis scientists on the cutting edge, celebrities, or are nation/military leaders, or are otherwise one of a kind entities. Even Geist (who has a demon trapped in her arm) is still just a socialite who kills in her sparetime. Not exactly adventure book protagonist material. Kelvin is the most famous of them but he's still just a guy that something happened to. Viscous isn't the leader of the deep, just an emissary of it. And Mirage is basically just a bodyguard. Vyper is literally a no-name jailbird

I'm not talking about their being, I'm talking about their characterisation; their significance in the wider world. Haze is a great example of this: of course the government wants in on the wishmaking, but they basically send a nameless gun, no legend surrounding specifically, she's just another dreamwalker employed by the government. She's elite, powerful, unhuman, yet she isn't a person of particular note or singularity. I think this normalcy makes these characters and the roster feel more human interestingly: Like, can you imagine a character from Overwatch working at a diner like Ivy does(Even the "bum" characters like Roadhog and Junkrat are internationally famous criminals)? It connects the world to ours even with all the supernatural shit. It also serves to not dilute characters with some celebrity: Krill and Bebop talking to Kelvin about his books; Vyper talking about the other criminals; the fear surrounding Seven; Vampire bat idolising Geist; or even Pocket's status as Fairfax's heir

I don't think there's a single hero in the game (yet) who has millions in his or her KDA, closest one could be Seven if he succeeds in his wish, but who knows. Its just really funny how realistically speaking after the ritual is over heroes will probably default to killing each other right away.

if any other dev team mismanaged a promising game even half as much as valve is doing with deadlock the project would get cancelled and the team would be fired. it is insane how this has lasted so long

neutral characters don't impose their will on others and only apply their morality when they need to make a choice. Abrams gambles with criminals but as far as I know he doesn't scheme to rob or murder anyone with them or anything. And he can also show concern for others, like in his interactions with Pocket, which would put him more on the good side, if you want to see someone who is neutral then just look at how Pocket reacts to those same concerns.
Also it's not confirmed that Abrams likes Geist, he even denies it. And if he is an archetypal detective then he would have to interact and work with criminals all the time.
Kelvin seems more concerned about himself than Abrams is.

mobas are not meant for skill expression or creativity because the devs are so focused on balance en execution, so splitting your own currency, stats and level-ups instead of min-maxing everything one at a time is pointless. All you need to do is follow the meta and buy defensive items regardless of whatever character or class you THINK you're playing.

That's the problem with yoshi. Unironically, this game needs some directors who have not spent the last 2 decades of their lives playing or creating the same mobas. Silent Hill 1 and Goldeneye N64 were made by amateurs and the defined their genres.

yeah, just like they also nerfed everything fun while adding nothing objectively better to the game. Or the fact that this is a supposed to be a hero shooter with moba skills, cooldowns, counters, item builds and a heavy emphasis on movement, where Vyper/Haze/Infernus/Wraith can simply hold M1 near you and you'll die in 1 second with a respawn timer as high as the queue times where your only way to counter them would be to not interact with them at all or buy items which simply increase your health and reduce damage, which is the most boring possible outcome imaginable.
