Alright, I did test out the different plots in island tycoon, and the plot opposite of the ladder that takes you up to the speed boost - the one to the left of you when you spawn in does give you xp faster.
However, I think there's a limit as to how much xp you're supposed to be getting. So, after about 50k xp, it will stop for a bit, then it will give you another 50k xp, stop for a bit, then another 50k.
You're really better off using the plot where you spawn in and just leave it accumulating xp while you sleep or do something else.
