Haven't played Skyrim since the anni edition came out. Wanted to, but mods were in a fucky state at that time.
Just saw that rabbit hole video, and despite all the bullshittery there, made me want to give modding rim another go.
Saw mention of that wabbajack shitty in the rentry, which was a tool that made modding the game sound appealing, and was curious as to why it's disliked?

I think it's partly elitism. Most modders hand-craft their mod lists to fit their needs and go through trial and error to get everything working properly and here comes someone new to the modding scene, build their loadout with just the click of a button. The program werks well most of the time from what I've heard; especially with either Premium™(from ur authored downloads ofc) or a workaround to auto-click or w/e. The issue is with all modlists having mods you won't like and not knowing how to change things yourself. If you're experienced you'd know where to look and can work things out are your own. However I'd have much less issue with Vanilla than I would someone else's profile of 3k mods desu. Some of the smol Wabbalists look alright since they only have a handful of mods I really wouldn't care for. Like, a little bloat, a couple mods with side-effects, or mods that don't work as well as others that do the same thing.

UFO4P gave me trouble elsewhere as well every time I tried using it. I had experience with dood's poise along with chocolate poise plus plus with simonrim stuff. Poise was always end up stun locking npc's or vice versa. I've tried MCO and a bunch of compatible mods a while ago. It was very fun when everything aligned but it just didn't work when casters, archers or most non-human enemies get involved. Like imagine doing this while you're chasing a whispmother that's shooting ice spells at you.
Admittedly I never managed to find balanced animations that really clicked with me. Maybe new stuff came out in this last couple of years.

Does anyone here play Oblivion remake? I came back to it after a couple months to let it mature with mods and patches, performance is way better now, a small FPS uplift but stuttering is way down

Mod scene seems glacial though, although there are some good survival mods, an immersive fpp mod and some cool stuff coming out that utilises unreal modding like a spell pack with levitation/earth walls and environmental destruction.

It's a very pretty game, what I miss the most though is stuff like oscuros and martys mods, I have damaged/weapon mods to fix some of the weird balancing and a mod that enables 3x spawns which makes combat way more fun but it's not the same without the increased enemy variety
