A better tactic is would be to run to cover if caught with your pants down instead of trying to engage, or move slowly with your gun drawn aiming down sights. Crouching would also help. The game is fine imo. I like that it's different.
I never played much of the refractor games, but since Bad Company 2, I have yet to play a "bad" battlefield game, again imo.
Some of them had rougher launch windows (4, V, 2042) but got there eventually. Also for the record launch 3 and 1 were really overrated and also improved their variety a lot post-launch. That seems to be a theme for these games. I still probably think full content 3 was the peak, but again, I've pretty much liked all of them.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is another game DICE was involved with that had a rough launch and got much better later on.
Actually, I think Battlefront 1 is the only game they've done that I actually think was just bad.
For comparison sake, I still like this more than most Call of Dutys. I'm not in denial or coping about the comparison though, I definitely see the similarities.

I don't need the map sizes to be a certain size as long as they work, and I think all of them work (with context of course. I think Empire is probably too small for Conquest but I like it for Rush. Likewise I think Liberation needs tweaking for breakthrough but I like it for Conquest)

I had a bit of hope at the start of the beta then I opened battlefield 4 after a year I stopped playing and I realized how completely different is this game compared to the previous ones. The fact is, in the previous games I was able to play the game how I wanted depending what I wanted to do and depending in which part of the map I spawned and the role I was playing and not constantly thrown in a big firefight for the entire round. Take fortifications from BFV from example, it was a neat idea that could be improved in future games, but they simply ditched it. Same thing with movement. In BFV you could actually climb walls and once again this mechanic was severely limited. Or the commander role, call-ins, airfields, BIG BOATS, etc.

It's going to be a huge surprise especially because it's not making a huge splash right now, but word of mouth will help it.

I've played both betas now, and I've only seen attackers win ONE match total. I don't mean that I've only won one game. Even on the enemy team, attackers just cannot win. Most matches don't even make it past the first point. Breakthrough just doesn't work with these small maps.

I’m starting to wonder if I just don’t like BF at all and I’m just clinging onto a modicum of nostalgia from 4 on ps3. This franchise spends so much time trying to reinvent the wheel it fails to legitimately evolve and iterate. There’s basic features from previous titles that aren’t in 6 and will likely never be added including the server browser of all things. My ideal battlefield is something that combines many features from 4/HL/1/V/042 but yeah that’s just not going to happen. I was hoping that 6 would at least be another 4 but it’s just a painfully watered down COD with the capstone feature being drag reviving.

The lack of browser is because communities forming will keep the game alive long past its live service lifecycle, which means less money to extract from them when a new Battlefield drops in 3-4 years. there are some legitimate design criticisms, but most of what's wrong with the game can be boiled down to the playerbase.
Pretty much any shooter where you respawn has been at a disadvantage in this way since Call of Duty 4, which cracked the dopamine code for casuals, creating an easy experience to "pick up and play" where wins and losses are relatively irrelevant in comparison to what you unlock and how good it feels to be able to kill literally anyone.
Fortnite was able to get around this by giving people one life instead and then just letting them spawn into a new game.
Battlefield 3 had the same problem, which is why while I don't consider Rush or Breakthrough a superior mode to Conquest on paper, it works with these smoothbrains better in practice because they're forced to interact with the objective to actually progress the match as opposed to just doing whatever they want.
But now the problem is a decade and a half worse and you can just tell every game. The average player in this beta WILL NOT REVIVE YOU no matter what. They will sit 2 feet from you and camp. It's pretty nuts.
If this game has any hope it will be after both Black Ops 7 and GTA6 come out. And then after MW4 comes out in a year that may help a bit too. But man, shit is still really sad to admit.

I own a dozen guns and no, it's really not the same. Controller triggers lack tactility and feedback to the trigger pull that real triggers have. I can feel when my mouse activates and the internal switch clicks, I can feel when my trigger breaks the double action wall or when the disconnector returns, but I get only a silent linear nothingness from controller. The only thing similar is the motion of the trigger pull but the entire feeling is completely off.

I only ever remember anybody really complaining about them in any given game for not getting on the objective. The real sniper hate and concerns over them feels like a fairly recent phenomena. Idk I'm shitting on this game hard but vehicles being OP isn't on my list. The maps don't spawn enough vehicles in general to have it feel overwhelming or difficult to deal with enemy armor.

Anyone else hate it when the ground swallows the spawn beacon. Watch this shit be in the game on release but the Shotgun needed to be nerfed first
