Fucking what? Or was he burying the cat he killed.

Okay. My brain refused to function last night and couldn't connect the most basic of dots so I had to sleep it off. What I'm now understanding is that you're saying we can't prove Sunny's bruised fingers were from excessive violin practice, and you're saying the scratching his knuckles bit implies his knuckles and maybe fingers could have been injured from a non-violin source.
I'm not a musician, but from what a basic search is telling me, it seems that injured fingers from playing violin seems to be a pretty documented phenomenon. Not to mention Sunny broke the violin for a reason. He hated that violin for a reason. It was causing him pain, both physical and in what it represented. Practicing the same song over and over again would cause him pain, and it took him away from the friends he wanted to be with and made the time spent with the sister he missed hurt. Not to mention the finger cutting off imagery we see in one or two places could be interpreted as part of this. I think. Stuff around practice for the recital is a pretty big theory zone.

Like i said, the line about bruised fingers is extremely vague. It doesn't specify what kind of injury it is, who's injured, and from what, it's just some boy staring at his hand and whimpering. I always assumed it's obvious in context, but it's not. That batch of excerpts refers to what appears to be Kel and Hero at one point, as well as Sunny's dad, in the exact same god pov fashion. That's the only reference to bruised fingers in the game, because the captions from the truth album are just metadata and not canon. Moreover, that entire batch of excerpts sounds iffy. There are multiple excerpts that sound oddly random (e.g. the line about scratching knuckles) and/or appear to misrepresent the events of the game (the ones about the chest and burying something in the yard.)

So it's quite a logical jump to assume that one line was about Sunny's hand injured by violin practice, and base a bunch of headcanons on this assumption. Like, who's to say it wasn't about Kel who burned his hand by grabbing one of Mari's cookies straight from the tray?

The captions from the truth album were probably removed for a reason. If you treat them as canon, you might as well claim that Sunny is a gooner who uses his laptop for watching porn (because that's what he does in earlier versions of the story), and extrapolate that "sorrows" are a poetic way to refer to his cum.

By the same logic, I can also look at this excerpt:

and claim it refers to Mewo's corpse so it proves that Sunny is a cat killer. I think it's more logical than the bruised hand thing, because the game straight up shows Sunny killing Mewo in headspace and implies she's really dead, but never offers an alternate explanation to "Sunny went schizo and eviscerated the cat". Seems in character for Sunny too. He almost did the same thing to Aubrey. Sunny apologists claim he was meant to stab himself instead of the cat, but Sunny is still alive, and the cat is gone.

It kind of does. The scenario itself. A cat in a surgery room being put down. You could read that as Mewo had to be put down for some reason. The Cat Butler says Mewo was very bad, so maybe Mewo did something that warranted her being put down. Or maybe the whole scenario is metaphorical. Like Mewo's just a metaphor for the violin or Mari and cutting her open is just repeating what happened that night, the "correct" answer being for Sunny to kill himself before he hurts someone that matters to him, and having to kill himself regardless of if you cut open Mewo showing where his thought process is headed.
The truth album text is a real sticky wicket. Out of all the unused content in Omori, it's one of the few things that still cleanly snaps into place. It doesn't really contradict anything I can think of, and most of the information it gives are things that were shown to us in out of context snippets prior or that the player could figure out for themselves. I genuinely think the reason they cut it was to make the whole Truth segment show, don't tell. But it's still fine to treat it as non-canon because it is still unused. The Omoriboy example you give isn't really a comparable comparison because of how irrelevant it to the current version of Omori. Like Flower, or Ice Cream Princess Mari, or Inko.

There are many references to cats dying horribly in headspace, like the cat you have to sacrifice to go to breaven or the creepy cats from Sunny's sketchbook. Sunny is known to hallucinate and the main kind of enemies he kills in headspace are cute bunnies and other kinds of little critters. He has anger issues and destroys stuff, like the violin or Basil's album. Mewo shows up in the piano room with Mari's spirit, and is nowhere to be found in the real world otherwise but she's a main character in white space, kinda like Mari in headspace. The last thing Sunny says to Mewo is "good kitty" which sounds like a reference to "Mewo was very bad" from the evisceration room or more like an apology, and a goodbye. People deny this vehemently, but I think Sunny did kill her just like he killed Mari.

And I seriously doubt Sunny killed Mewo. Killing Mewo just doesn't make sense for him. He broke the violin because he blamed it for the pain he was experiencing. He pushed Mari because he wanted to get her away from him, not thinking about where they were standing or what would happen next. The Photo Album could have been ruined for any number of reasons, I personally think it was a selfish action on Sunny's part who couldn't stand to look at the happy memories he ruined that Basil was trying to remind him of, probably didn't help that Basil implied they could new memories. Sunny slashed, not stabbed, slashed Aubrey because he was utterly delusional after years of dreaming a different life and that's what you do in Headspace. The bunnies as enemies in Headspace aren't because he hates bunnies and wants to kill small creatures, we can see bunnies on the Space Boyfriend comic cover in the photo album meaning they were an enemy in the comics. Sunny's not someone that wants to hurt or kill, unless it's himself. What could Mewo have done to incite Sunny to kill her and then bury her in the backyard? For all we know Mewo might still be alive and with Sunny's Mom and the game never tells us.

And Headspace is in-universe like a video game or cartoon. A dream taking all sorts of pieces from Sunny's life and media he consumed to make a world. We're not talking about Undertale or Drakengard right now, the game isn't going to question your or Sunny's morality for taking Leafie's questline and murdering bunnies by the dozen, outside a missable line from Dream Mari. Or say that the Squizzard's you slaughtered just because you were told they were obnoxious is awful and they're living beings, too. Or using Actual Mole as a sacrifice to start a ritual of doom that takes you to Breaven to battle the twin god's over death that endlessly bake bread which is what Headspace characters sometimes turn into when they die. The kinds of things that happen in video games as side quests or shows.

I don't get it. Mewo exists in white space, which also has the notebook with creepy bleeding cats, cat cloud of doom, etc. When you break the lightbulb which releases Sunny's inner demons Mewo disappears, then there's the scene where Sunny kills her. It sounds like Sunny said goodbye to Mewo in the same scene where he made peace with spirit Mari. There's also a scene where Sunny kills a different innocent cat in the underworld-y area that also has "You did it :)" bit of foreshadowing nearby, and was originally meant to be the home of Mari the ice cream princess. Sacrificing the cat also summons some canine demons of guilt or whatever (picrel). And there's the line from Black Space 2 about Sunny burying something in the grass. Where's the extra hard repression? That kid literally erased his best friend's corpse in one of the endings. He's been repressing one of the rooms in his house, for years probably. He can repress things pretty damn hard.

The killing Dream Basil stuff is more about silencing the truth, but...you know. There's only so much I could dress Omori killing/letting Basil die as to ignore what it is. At the very least I don't think Sunny seriously wants Basil dead, as much as it is that he can't forgive Basil or himself for what they did. Which is why he can leave him to die in one or two endings.
I still feel like if Sunny killed Mewo, that would be much more foreshadowed. References to the tree stump and jump rope appear in quite a few places, even the tree itself appears in some Headspace areas. Vast Forest has a tire swing that Something appears in front of, for goodness sake. Even hanged Mari's can appear outside Black Space, like the one in Lost Forest. The truth always bleeds in. If Sunny did kill Mewo, especially by "accident", than I feel like something like that would bleed into Headspace more. Like the spider Mewo's, which don't seem to have much behind them.
Mewo being removed from White Space even if you don't kill her is reserved for the true route where White Space goes empty before breaking the lightbulb and fighting Omori. If you give up, White Space returns mostly to normal and Mewo appears again. The "You did it :)" sign doesn't appear in Breaven. It's in a disconnected area, and it's referring to hanging Mari. It has a jump rope right in front of it, and I don't remember a cat being in that area. Sacrificing the cat in the sacrifice area summoning the Hush Puppies could mean something.
I will give you the sketchbook, but mostly because the Black Space version adds a knife being stabbed into the cat sun. But that could also refer to Sunny because sun, and Sunny is sometimes associated with cats. Omori's sketchbook is weird.

The pacing being messed with definitely screwed over the first chapter most. I think it only got better after that even if it's still being rushed, outside a decision to move a certain important scene to Otherworld which I didn't like. I personally like the manga most when it deviates slightly, or even adds it own details to make the experience a little different. The church scene couldn't effectively replicate what happens in the game, so it plays out a little differently. Or us getting an added scene with Miss Candice or Kel being more active in wanting to set things right. Or adding that after Sunny almost drowned, the first thing he did after opening his eyes and coming to was to try and wipe Mari's tears. It's a sad and adorable detail that helps show how much they meant to each other. 'He loved her and he killed her' and all that.
I also like the art. I don't have any technical judgments or whatever, I just think it looks neat. And pretty, like chapter 2's walk through Basil's garden. The characters look really cute overall.

The art is pretty shit, and looking at these pages after a while, I just realized why that's the case with newfound clarity. It's basically everything wrong with anime art style on steroids. The sidemouths, the sidemuzzles so long they look kind of grotesque, the gigantic bulky heads and sexualized characters with very childlike proportions. It's basically moepig style, but certain elements of it like the fuck-me eyes and scratchy, swirly lineart make it look more alternative and goffic, and it fits like a fist to the nose. It's borderline gross to look at, but yeah, I'm totally unsurprised that people like it here. Not to mention, it fails to capture the style of the game it's based on.
