Why doesn't the cookout light enemies on fire anymore? Landed 4-5 pellets on a scavenger and it survived and wasn't lit on fire. It basically takes as many shots to kill them with direct damage to light enemies on fire now.

This is actually good right now for the predator strain, since status effects are so bad and it staggers everything so hard. Slap the full choke on it, bring the AC or GL (something for mediums), and go wild. The full choke means you can 1-shot chaff out to a really good range and kill stalkers in 2-3 shots to the face, making it ammo efficient.

I used to love the lower cooldown of the MG but you really have to babysit it to get the full use of it, since it doesn't have enough DPS to take down more than one or two mediums that are pressing on it at a time. Having leaked enemies does not make the current enemies any less shit. Squids are boring, full stop. Yeah they keep you shooting and moving but they feel like ass to fight. Bots have volume of fire and great feedback when injured or killed, with light pen bullets ricocheting off of their armor. They have awesome unit variety and aesthetics. Bugs are nasty and fast, good sfx and blast apart in really satisfying ways, and also have decent enemy variety.

Squids have like zero feedback when you shoot them and it feels like you're just pounding bullets into a target dummy.

Localization Confusion is bad to meh, sometimes I take it because I'm bored but I wouldn't call it good.

Sickle is okay as a general-purpose bullet hose, decent on cold planets but otherwise not something you bring against bots.

Electrical Conduit armor is okay, and the only way you're getting the perk outside of Acclimated (and no way to get Medium Acclimated if you weren't hear for the Killzone warbond).

Stun Grenade used to be meta, now I'd say it's trash because Thermite exists.

Punisher Plasma used to be good, now it's completely eclipsed by Purifier.

Dagger is a utility tool, terrible as an actual weapon.

Blitzer is a short-ranged horde clearer, think Torcher but with actual crowd control, I haven't actually used it enough to judge but I rarely ever see anyone else use it so I assume it's not that good.

I've never bothered to check if Gunslinger perk is any good or at least not-glitched anymore, but even if it works as advertised it's only ever actually good with the Senator and does nothing for its ammo economy.

Deadeye is a godly rifle, headclicker supreme and its only flaw is its small magazine.

Talon is very good as a general purpose secondary, not having to worry about reloads is super nice and if your trigger discipline is good it can outperform the Verdict.

Dynamite is mostly a meme, the only uses I ever found for it were killing Lightning Spires due to the wide explosion radius and setting the fuse to 60 seconds and tossing it around extract to encourage my team to board the shuttle instead of sitting around padding their kill counts. It's okay as a grenade but otherwise doesn't excel.

Sample Extricator is something I only ever used once, I guess it's okay if you can control where the heavies show up so that you can reliably pick up the samples from them but otherwise it's worthless if you've already maxed out your upgrades.

Hover Pack varies between meme and handy.

Biggest gripe with this game is ammo management. Unless I bring at least one infinite ammo gun then I will invariably run out of ammo within a couple minutes of combat. This pigeonholes me into specific weapons, and that further limits what other weapons I can bring. The only alternative is to just run away and not fight... but then why even play the game?

The host bug only affects Fire/Gas DoT. Status effects as a whole have been significantly nerfed. Arc thrower/tesla towers can no longer stun hulks or chargers in 1 shot. Pacifier despite being buffed has an even worse stun compared to before. I would imagine the pummeler is dogshit as well due to this. For example, the fucking blitzer cannot lock down a single overseer anymore. They can still let off a single shot or melee attack in the middle of the stun/stagger animation. Alexus actually nuked all status effect weapons to the point of uselessness. Just use high power guns now like replacing the cookoff with the punisher since fire is not reliable anymore.
