What us the point of lmg in this game with these settings? Anyone can just slide away from you now if they are paying attention at all. Suppression does literally nothing except alert someone they are being shot at. You can't 1v1 anyone unless they are bad or you caught them by complete surprise. Absolute death sentence to do anything but corner camp with one, even then you may as well just corner camp with a hip fire smg and get the sane results except in rare situation where you need your big mag.

If suppression hurt accuracy or slowed people down significantly I might see the use but it doesn't do anything.

HOW TO BALANCE
>Shotguns
Lower cycle time, so you get 1 maybe 2 pumps in the time it would normally take a short range auto to beam you down.
>ARs
Increase bloom/spread at range so you can't laser beam snipers/DMRs. Damage falloff should also be more aggressive. Attachment trade-off should be weapon sway vs recoil.
>Carbines
Jack of all trades master of none. Lower caliber than ARs with smaller mag sizes. Quicker reloads but less damage, more spread over distance. Accurate at semi auto and small burst. Attachment trade off should be bullet velocity vs damage dropoff.
>DMRs
Far less recoil so they can be competitive vs a full auto weapon at their intended range.
>SMGs
Bullet hoses, by far quickest auto TTK up close. Severe damage dropoff with spread breaking apart after about 50m. Attachment trade-off between reload speed, mag capacity, bullet spread, and damage dropoff.
>LMGs
King of volume. Minimal bullet spread if mounted, but heavy recoil if standing. Reduced by crouching or going prone. They honestly don't need much work right now.

Yeah we will be playing it. The general should also get chiller once pretty much only buyers are involved. We will also probably be playing V, 4, and 1 a bit over the next month on some nights, but no pressure. If you don't already have any of those I'd hold off since they're no longer on sale.

Ever heard of hard cover? Also again stuck with your medic and have them revive you if you do get shredded. Smokes exist. Stop shiftW sprinting all over the place and move from cover to cover when you can see there's no incoming fire.

Okay so fucking coordinate with your team. Infantry should be supporting you and repairing/taking out enemy engies. They should also be clearing mines that are on roads. The ideal approach is Vehicle + Gunner with a squad of support. Squad is alongside vehicle. Vehicle takes short range point and engages to draw attention and get an easy kill or two. Gunner should be swivelling looking for engies. Fight starts and vehicle backs off when the rockets start to fly. Repair during backoff. Squad engages and kills off or spots engies. Vehicle heals and reingages knowing where engies are and takes them out or runs them off. Infantry advances with the space made by the vehicle. Rinse and repeat.

I've played every BF since 1942 and it feels like they did exactly that after 2142. They tested it out in the bad company series first. And when they saw it was successful, they rolled it into the main franchise with 3 and 4 (this is why we never got another BC series because Bf3 and onward IS building upon bad company. The games would be the same). 2042 was an amazing example of them doing this with all the ridiculous skins they had planned (like santa). Its very obvious they're chasing a trend for money and OG players find that very frustrating. You know Squad? That came about because bf2 players were pissed at Bf3 and 4 (and flooded project reality which then led to Squad). I like Squad or games like HLL. But they either lack the vehicles i'm looking for (no air vehicles in HLL for example). And they went too far with their logi system. If someone released a game with the movement/gunplay of Squad/HLL, but the "arcade" systems of Bf2; I'd be so god damn happy.

And to add onto this since I ran out of room. The funny thing is that they'll never be CoD. Most of this arcadey cod playerbase they're trying to attract ends up going back to CoD. Especially after they play large maps with vehicles. CoD players get so pissed at vehicles when I watch/play with them. They're mad because they don't always have the tools to deal with them. So DICE ends up chasing a playerbase that will never stick with their game. The core design of a BF game ends up being at odds with what a CoD game is like. In fact I think I'd say their attempts to lower the skill floor of the game like auto regen health, auto spotting, kill cams, scope glints, smaller maps, etc. That actually made the situation worse. Because it made it so that really the only thing that defines skill in these games is reaction time. So you get the situation you have now in Bf6 beta where you have these sweats get an insane amount of kills thanks to them practicing a ton. And other average players get pissed because having good reaction times and aim accounts for 80% of the skill in the game now. Stealth, snipers, tactics, etc. Those are ways that you "could've" killed the "pro player" in the past. But now? Its hardly impactful. You kill one person, fire on bullet. Half the team knows where you are. Including the person you killed.

I'm gonna be real, I'm not buying this after all. I was really hyped up with all the trailers and tweets of devs thinking we're finally back. But the game feels kind of underwhelming. Every map has the same pattern of forcing players into choke points and every hiding place can be fired upon from different angles. Enemies appear out of all places like in a CoD deathmatch. Spawns can be easily targeted. It's not what I expected.

Not sure if executives are stupid, devs are stupid, managers are stupid. But somethings wrong with the sheer amount of major title failures. For example, Killing Floor 2 now has more players than Killing Floor 3. Same situation happened with payday 3. That being said, while commander situation was nerfed to hell in Bf4, it could still be insanely effective. Like if you were good and did things like timing cruise missiles right, you could do some insanely satisfying things. Seeing 1-3 squads of enemies running towards an objective and then timing a missile to destroy all of them. *Chefs kiss*. You could do that in bf2 with arty, but yeah still a lot of fun. But without the whole protect/repair aspect of commander assets, it did seem a lot less fun. I guess they figured nobody wanted to do that kind of stuff so no point in having it. Which was kind of true. They basically took that system and tied it to flags instead (capture this flag, unlock C130 for example).

Both have the tightest and most responsive movement and shooting and the best 4v4 maps since H2 with a lot of verticality/platforming (5 moreso then Infinite for both of those), both have a god tier forge (Infinite moreso then Forge), and both are the only Halo games to have actually good weapon balance (well, before the TU for 5, but even after it it's still way better balancing then any Halo game prior to it bar CE and ODST)

This is like the least valid criticism possible for Infinite. It not only has a lot of weapons (the second most in the series after 5), and not only does it have the highest proportion of weapons that are actually worth using (vs H2-4 where most to at least half of the guns suck), but it also by a huge margin has the most weapons with distinct niches and unique gameplay gimmicks.

The BR vs Carbine vs DMR vs Needle Rifle vs Light Rifle were all basically the same shit with slight differences, meanwhile in Infinite the BR vs the Pulse Carbine vs the Commando vs the Stalker Rifle vs the Bandit (and maybe the new carbine, have't tried it yet) all have fairly distinct modes of operation and niches despite on a surface level all being mid range precision weapon. Same is true for the sniper vs stalker rifle vs skewer vs (to a lesser extent) shock rifle wheras the Sniper vs Beam rifle were bsically the same thing, and so on

And, in addition to the Plasma Pistol (overcharge and EMP), Needler (supercombine), Grav Hammer (grav wave) and Sword (lunge) all having unique gimmicks as usual, Infinite also has the Hydra (alt firing homing mode), Heatwave (different shot patterns), Ravaeger (charged AOE shot), Disruptor (DoT effect, plus shock in general), Cindershot (bounce + it's manual guided mode, used to have gravity suction too), Mutilator (doubleshot mode), and more I can't fit into this post
