Would you be willing to describe how you go about making a ruleset like this with char cards, worldbooks, chat completion presets and so on?
I really want to expand the Runequest worldbooks in much the same style. (and to a adapt some very niche rulesets I don't think anyone would vote for)

Depends if you're using Text Completion or the Custom OpenAI Chat Completion. For text completion it's the formatting in the section in picrel. For OAI stuff, you have the presets and prompt builder in there. You can download the presets from the OP and use them with the OAI Chat Completion mode.

i have run a couple of non-D&D things just using the 3.5e rulebooks and it's worked out great though. Warcraft went well and it also did a pretty good job converting the game into a Star Wars thing utilizing elements of SAGA, even if it didn't always get the rules right and sometimes hallucinated feats that don't exist.

Mistal Nemo. Qwen 3 30BA3B. Q4_K_Ms run reasonably well even partially offloaded. Make sure to enabled Low VRAM so the kv cache isn't on GPU.

You can run at respectable speeds with offloading as many layers as possible, especially with --cpu-moe on newer models. People are starting to put out ablated and uncensored gpt-oss 120B that will be pretty stupid but runs at good speeds with MOE offloaded. Make sure you don't fill up your VRAM. Keep a bit of buffer or else NVIDIA's stupid OOM stopper will put you into swap/disk cache or some slow shit. It's awful.

I think what makes the TTRPG adaptations fun is the opportunity to mess around with actual mechanics instead of just playing pretend in the chat. My favorite thing about adaptations are the adventure modules because they come with static dungeon maps. It will be even better when someone much smarter than me writes an extension that lets AI write the maps for you straight into the lorebook. Instead of you telling it in the chat to pretend there's a world, you should just tell it to make a map and store it in the lorebook and only update it if something changes such as a new shop opens or a house burns down. Then we'll have true free roam. The AI just makes up shit along the way and I don't like it. I wish it could be like Dwarf Fortress: pregen a world you can just drop into. Then again, you can just write your OC world down in a text, and do my adaptation method. It will work. It just won't be automated.
