Demons are subpar. They are entirely reliant on getting both Soul Juggler and Devout Hellcaller ASAP. And if your Soul Juggler gets targeted early in the fight, you might as well write it off as a loss. But even if you get everything perfect. Even if you get golden Hellcaller, Juggler, Icky, Piggyback, Earl, Enforcer and Ruin Lord? Quillboars, Naga, Murlocs and Elementals all scale way harder into late game. Never mind that you can't buff the stats on your minions other than the devout, the juggler and the lord since you need them to fucking die. Or that half the time, you can't summon all the minions off a deathrattle and you have no way to take advantage of that.

If you decide to go with the "consuming" build, you're even more fucked. At least with the revenge build you can survive the early game if you're lucky. With the consuming build, you're shit out of luck until you hit tier 4. By the time you do hit it, it's usually too late. And guess what? It doesn't scale any better than the revenge build. Unless you get super lucky and get a famished felbat super early on for some fucking batshit reason.

Also, getting rid of the self-damage mechanic was retarded. What even is the point of Lich Baz'hial now? Her entire schtick was using her hero power to take advantage of it. But now nothing scales off self-damage and there's no way to prevent it. It's just completely retarded design.

This season of battlegrounds is going to suck ass. The magnetize build on mechs is fucked. Undead are janky as fuck. Rally is OP. Quillboars are raping everyone left and right. Dragons just downright suck. And demons were redesigned by a lobotomy patient.

I AM LOSING MY MIND

Dusted a couple of legendaries/epics/rares the other day to craft Hostage Mage but it's less fun to play than I expected. So I went ahead and dusted all of my DK and DH cards because I really don't enjoy either so I could start stocking up on dust and hopefully have enough to craft a funnier deck. I like Renothal piles, maybe Druid, maybe Warrior with TNT, idk yet. But I was thinking, what other classes could I sacrifice? Considering I'm really not a fan of Aggro, I've been thinking, maybe I could dust my Hunter/Paladin collections?

Also what are, in your opinion, the funnier Renothal piles? With lots of RNG possibly. I don't really care about a competitive winrate, I don't need to climb the ladder.

This legend grind has been brutal. I was losing to Quest paladin so I switched to pain DH or beast Hunter, and only played against diaper decks after that. I had 57% winrates with Cliff Dive but games were slow and sometimes Tar Pit hides on the bottom of my deck and I got tilted after a few games of that.

Playing Fyrakk rogue and Yogg in the Box slid me back down to rank 5. I swear more than half the time playing those cards I would lose on the spot.

A lot of tribes are *viable*. The issue is entirely in how each tribe is designed to function with itself. The worst offender for this are mechs.

Two themes: Divine Shield and Magnetic. Divine Shield has the issue where the divine shield minions simply do not function at all without their T6. An ideal DS board is Deflecto, Mooncatcher, gleaming, and renovators. The only scaling limit in this build is literally just how many divine shield minions you can cram. That artificially restricts the cap on your scaling. Grease bot is so bad it can be moved to T3 and still be fine. You cannot top 1 with this build. Then you have magnetic. The issue with them is the scalers are at T2/T4 and you need to pay 3 gold to take advantage of them each time unlike any good tribe that passively scales every round. You don't start getting free magnetics until T5/T6 when it's already too late. Czarina shouldn't even be in this fucking pool because there's no spell generators outside of quests. Even with the changes mech is going to be dogshit.

On the complete opposite end you have quilboars. T1 Tusked Camper -> T2 Prodigious Tusker -> T3 literally anything besides bannerboar (which they're removing lmao) -> T4 literally anything besides bristler if you don't have roadboar -> T5 either one works (surveyor requires roadboar) -> T6 literally any.

The entire fucking tribe has amazing synergy within itself. Even in end-game you're not going to hate having your tier 2 minion on the board because it's just feeding itself 2 blood gems per rally. It's fucking insane how the devs can look at this and then look at mechs and go "yeah, they're roughly balanced". That said quils are fucking boring, there's only one way to play them.

In the middle of these two extremes you have things like elemental and murlocs that basically don't exist unless you hit very specific T4-T6 minions. Eles need lava/Vine and murlocs need floatsam/mycologist.

The issue is that the devs are REALLY squeezing the playerbase for money and selling power now and they refuse to release specific game modes beyond seasonal shit.

I've been playing Hearthstone since day1 but never played much Wild for some reason.

I had a bunch of extra dust and decided to make an expensive wild deck, so I crafted this crazy "XL Hostage Mage" list I saw on hsguru.

This deck TORTURES people. It technically has a couple of "win conditions," it can drop Coldara Drake and you can go infinite if you have the Reno hero power that untaps 2 mana. There is also this weird combo: ETC to grab potion of illusion, then replay ETC and grab Light Show, then play Lightshow then play the 9 mana Legend guy that replays cards that didn't start in your deck to do a bunch of Lightshows.

I played 15 games and never played either combo once. People just conceded after they became demoralized. You recycle Iceblocks and Reno's and they just concede. It's the most evil aligned deck I've ever played.

I don't understand why everyone is dooming about the quests when they're going to be in the rotation for another one and half year. There's another miniset, expansion and another miniset of that expansion just this year. And most of them are decently open ended where they could easily receive cards from the new expansions. Unless the devs decide to do another imbue/starcraft where they need a huge part of the expansions to be dedicated to the synergy almost all of the quests can be supported with new cards.

Expecting every expansions to be able to produce dozens of new decks out of nothing is precisely why the metas have been so crap for the past like 5 years. It's much better to build on classes throughout the entire year as appose to forcing archetypes with a single expansions, they're always either broken to the point we need several balance patches just to be able to play anything that isn't op deck or direct counter but they're also almost always not that interesting. Back in the day archetypes used to exist almost independently of expansions and you would see them getting a card or two per set tha they would consider slotting in.

card draw is really fucked up in this game. kinda feel like if they made card draw an actual thing you had to achieve and work for again, it would solve a ton of problems
aggro decks never run out of gas. control decks have 10 cards in hand for the entire game. even in arena, it's like 5+ cards vs 5+ cards for the entire fucking game. it's a joke. they deleted the concept of cards being a resource
this is also why the dark gift that gives a giant buff to minions is overtuned. it's designed like "skipping a draw step" is a big deal, and in card games in general, it is. but in modern hearthstone, it is not. the average deck in any given mode can give up -2 or -3 cards, let alone -1 cards, and not even notice it. so the "drawback" of missing a draw step is irrelevant. you just get a discovered minion with a massive stat boost with basically no downside

Surely there's a sweet spot between "having no card to play" and "for every card I play I get two more". And yes aggro is supposed to be a glass cannon, if it can't end the game fast it's supposed to lose. Aggro lose condition used to be "fuck I ran out of shit and my opponent stabilized, oh well" now it's "welp I could generate 30 more random crap but turns out my opponent generated 60 armor and 7 taunts, oh well".
