I have a macro(ctrl+4) that swaps my main hotbar to hotbar 7 for all my aoe weaponskills and then another macro(ctrl+3) to go back to the single target hotbar. I use this macro setup for all DPS jobs except for SMN, PCT, BRD, and MCH since I was able to fit everything where I needed to on those jobs.

R T and F are all easily reachable even if you're still using Q and E for movement.
But also honestly using a controller isn't a bad option either, the crossbar system was designed for comfort while allowing you to have access to all assignable buttons for any given job. You could consider using controller input for instances and then just use the keyboard for communication.
Either way though a big thing to remember is you don't need to constantly jiggle your character like an autistic child playing with legos while you're in combat. You can just sit still and use skills until you have to move for mechanics.
