I think Kai's menu in particular is a disaster to navigate through with all the sub menues and button combinations to reach what you need. It's one of the least intuitive menus in any game. Even after 100+ hours in this shit game I need to check what button to press to get to what submenu. Really miss the good old clearly structured menus of the older arcs. No face button navigation bullshit.

Everyone who asked me for a recommendation, i told them to start with cold steel and then decide for themselves where to go after that.
Most were satisfied after cold steel 4 and were fine with stopping there which is valid. The funny thing is that the ones that did either go back or forward found those games a bit lacking for one reason or another and lost some enthusiasm which is also fine because its a long series and not every game is going to be a good one. That's why its best to let people choose for themselves.

i hate that cold steel is something you can only think is either 0/10 or 11/10 in this fanbase
i dont hate cold steel it has moments where it's great but i don't completely love it either, it's fairly mediocre most of the time despite having some really good highs. rean probably got the most to do of any protagonist in the series but when he's not directly being involved in the plot he's one of the most boring characters in the entire series. all the guy knows how to do is be a lifeless doormat and say "haha..." and he just has no chemistry with like 95% of the characters. the mecha shit is awesome but it's also not really frequent enough for my taste and theres a complete lack of any kind of real customization or progression with it.
