I finished the patch, it was very entertaining. Lygus is my nigga, and Hysilens was "okay," I guess. The only character I found forced and never really understood what her point was was Cerydra. Basically she's the unironic lynchpin of why Phainon was never able to stop the cycle himself. Her story itself is mostly to explain why she always dies so early in the loop and why Hysilen is never seen again, where due to Cerydra doing something so monstrous Hysilen loses all faith in her and thus snuffs her out. But because she snuffs out the light she follows, Hysilen falls into despair and essentially gives up on life. For me at least, I like Cerydra a lot simply because she actually is a horrible tyrant. Unlike a lot of other characters, we don't actually get to see them commit heinous acts. Cerydra though we see her pull a lot of shit, such as executing the priest on screen, doing a shit test at the banquet, and sending off all her loyal followers to die. It helps me actually believe that she will do terrible things to get what she wants or to impose her will.

I do think an aspect that actually goes down under in regards to Cerydra is that she's rebellious. For all her talk of law, she is also about burning down the old law. It's this aspect that Lygus doesn't take into account, where he thinks all she cares about is conquering new places. It's also why I think TB's memories were important for her to see, since it showed her the end of her path, but also the start of a new one. She ends up as a more compelling character simply because Hoyo is actually willing to show off her bad side along with good.
