Over time, PoE2 will have a larger player base and PoE1 will get smaller leagues/maintenance updates but that is years down the line. I suspect that it would take until like 2028 at the soonest for that to happen. Keep in mind, PoE2 is definitely not releasing till the middle or end of 2026.

If you're a PoE1 enjoyer (and strictly PoE1) you'll probably get another 3-4 years out of it.

Lads, according to my calculations, if they want to have Act 4 replace Cruel, they can add 3 zonelevels to Act 3 so it ends with The Black Chambers being level 48.

that leaves 49-64 as Act 4, so it needs to have 16 levels in total, the same as the other acts on average.

it'll make it so acts 1 and 2 are unchanged but there is a pretty scary gearing curve in acts 3 and 4 as every level without exception is harder than the last. people who complained about normal act 3 before will go even more insane this time but at least they'll only have to play through it once.

No, anon. Most builds just put in a few defensive flasks and quicksilver and use when full + a life flask. They just have them up while mapping and they do nothing while bossing. Sometimes you use a tincture instead of one of the flasks and press it for bosses.

Then you have MB, where flasks basically cap your suppress, crit, resists, give insane MS, etc.
You also have traitor builds, as you said, with coruscating elixir
Then you have pathfinders with tides of time to have infinite flask uptime with progenesis and possibly a life flask giving like 10k regen per second.

I think they're interesting, but they are clearly overpowered in PoE1. I DO NOT LIKE CHARMS, so don't say I am shilling for this. I just think they did not balance flasks correctly. MB is too strong (but the game does need chase items and I don't think it should be nerfed at this point) and PF with tides of time can be too strong too.

Because this is a nothing league. The weaver league actually, meaningfully changed Last Epoch for the better. The maps they added were decently varied and kind of cool. But the game shit outs too much loot, has one end game pinnacle boss, and overall is just too easy except for that one pinnacle boss.
Their season 3 just adds blatant powercreep (tier 8 mods on one item) and then does some QoL stuff and a rework of a few old systems. It is basically a filler season.

the problem is that if your gear is already good, it reduces the chance that you will find something better. there is no way to just keep giving you endlessly better gear, trying to do that results in cancer like D3's paragon and infinite higher-numbers system.

The campaign is like that but it is at the same time too slow. There are "some" monsters that can be dangerous, but they way rhey are dangerous is by zerging the player. Things like the blood pools in act 1, offscreen archers etc. They just overwhelm you they don't necessarily make you engage in strategy other than maybe a dodgeroll out of a circle of bad. That's nit the kind of combat I want. There should be more rare monsters like the candlestick monster or geonor. I'd like tougher enemies not faster and more numerous ones. I'd also like tools to deal with them like leech, guard skills, defense bubbles against archers, etc. The game will simply turn into poe1 if they take the same design paradigm of adding more and more mobs to the screen and more and more numerically bloated items.

What's funny about "muh crafting bench" retards is that almost none of the advanced recipes (which are not available until maps btw) are actually used.
It's all about plugging resistance/attribute holes, which is already covered by runes, which is then relegated to:
1) Highly specific crafts like "hits can't be evaded", which basically does not matter in this game
2) Metacrafting, which is already covered by omens. And dont start on the price - if you can pay 2 div for a craft, you can pay 2 div for an omen.
3) Blocking mod groups for eldritch casino. You are unlikely to get that kind of a system in poe2

I don't find mindlessly farming for 100s of hrs fun so if a game demands that of me and there's no visual on screen player growth I get bored very quickly. Poe1 for all its faults allows actual real visible progress in speed, your skill function, etc. The combination of item interactions and meme interactions with skills over the years is unmatched. depending on how GGG want to balance endgame, all that LA and galvanic shards being able to do the same means is that they are OP as well, or we're really headed for PoE1 "the whole screen explodes" territory being the official endgame design goal.

what happens when you add ephemeral edge, higher tier bases, influenced affixes, more deterministic crafting?
they need to get the rest of the shit in the base game, balance it for a few leagues and then add an endgame expansion. before that point there is no need for more than what is already in the game.
