On his last stream he was playing Crystron + Adventurer and many people copied him for the 2nd stage. I think it was a good choice because Crystron plays really well under the roach and extends over the opponent's pops which Centur-ion and Tenpai players love to do. Some people even put Lancea in their deck just for Crystron. Synchro decks that synchros during your turn are hard to deal in general when the player knows what he is doing.

Sky striker tenpai is the most disgusting thing to have ever graced this game. It spits upon the entire essence of my wife raye's deck. We do not OTK. We control the board over several turns. My wife raye would literally die if she found out people were playing her and not going to turn 6+ each game.

You can find several on MDM. At the end of the day it's really not that absurd you just sit on widow anchors or droplets or called bys or whatever you drew into during your turn and negate your opponent to a stop.

On the subject of Strikers, this card's seeing a good amount of play in OCG builds and more than half of the ones running it are actually bothering to play 1 MST.

My issue is that a meta of bad decks with lots of hand traps vs bad decks with lots of hand traps involves a lot of games where turns are passed back and forth as hand traps shut down turns over and over until one person topdecks a starter that doesn't get stopped and wins on the spot. It's not an enjoyable way for games to go.

When better decks are involved you get a lot more half-boards being made into each other that lead to more interesting gamestates.
When it's bad deck vs bad deck with the good hand traps banned you see a much larger variety of non-engine to fill the space and more games of engine vs endboard.

Gem Knight support is probably close and its...okay.
Both Frightfur and Gem Knights have a handful of things in common with Chimera and Branded - fusion focused decks that constantly cycle resources. Branded can be a very complex deck that's also hung around being "solid" for years. But that means it has a learning curve and is also one of the most expensive decks in the game now.
Chimera I think has mostly been pushed out now with White Binder/Impulse driving in the final nail but its a bit cheaper and less complicated than Branded.

Sometimes the two decks are even run together.

As for what deck you choose, just make sure it's at least halfway competent. You will not have fun if you choose something shit tier like Toons that hasn't gotten new cards in years and wasn't even good back then.
And as for how to build decks, just look up a list. The modern game is less about just having good cards that have some synergy thrown together and are more about having reliable combos that can get whatever cards you need when you need them.
Masterduelmeta.com is a good resource for looking up what decks people are playing or how they're building the deck.

Fuwalos is a turn ender against maliss unless they open the tits, and otherwise still forces them into an awkward position
depending on how you time it, you may also get 3 draws from Ryzeal
