Its difficult to say whether I agree with this or not. While I do enjoy some of Black Ops 4's gameplay changes, mechanics and maps I still prefer Black Ops 3 and everything before it.

The game design was just better in my opinion. BO3 pushed it with all the little scattered parts and side objects to activate some random gimmick or power but it wasn't overly annoying, by bo4 it was in full swing.
Zombies had health caps, there was a dozen items on every map, the retarded perk system, AI companions were a thing, the game gave you an rechargable special (death machine, sword, ragnarok), the wallbuys were way too good and it made hitting the mystery box pointless which was kind of a problem in black ops 3 but that was only if you or your team were doing the easter egg and trying to minimize spending on pointless shit when you could just pull the HVK which had the best stats for an AR.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that while origins had staffs that were op as fuck or der eisendrache had the bows which were ever fucking more op it just didn't feel like treyarch were trying to point people towards it like the way BO4 does that type of stuff.
