if your cards are shit you want to focus on blue sparks that will let you hit the stamina requirement for your uma’s distance and the speed cap, for some distances this is 9* stam, for some it’s easy to hit the stam requirement so you go 9* power, but generally any mix of the two works well
once you can hit speed and stam targets without relying on blue sparks then people tend to look for 7*+ for the distance aptitude they’re aiming for, or good white sparks (skill sparks for their running style, track-specific skills for CM, ura finale etc)

You should add a couple of keywords that you think the club will be looking for with it's ATS system. Most clubs nowadays get so many applicants that they automate the first round of screening, so you're probably not making the cut because your CV is lacking relevant keywords like CM, Launch, Non-reroller and is getting screened out by software.

You need to run a card like borrowed MLB Tokai Teio and pick up a few navigation skills from her, especially the mid/late race positioning like Go with the flow and lightning step. Additional velocity mid race skills like Ramp up and slipstream from Creek and Tosho also help.
Taishin will crush Goldship with similar stats and skills (and with enough stamina needed for 2400) if she has the chance, but her biggest issue when against two goldships is that they both get a huge amount of velocity mid race from anchors (which sucks when inherited) which lets them reposition which naturally forces Taishin's AI to take the inner cockblock position behind the horde of late surgers.

I'd say I'm casual, but I rerolled during Kita as I missed out on Fine and Creek since the banner was time limited even though it was standard? And they fixed it later, but I just went for Kita as it was being pushed being the best card ever.
Got myself MLB'd Kita and pretty good set of uncapped SRs on top of spending a little bit for new horses as I wanted to have a starting point that would carry me far without having to stress about banners too much.

I just auto-select my TT and focus on career and the horses. I can't be arsed to check what every skill does or does this race have uphills corners where and so on. I only check the horse/support events since I have the memory of a gold fish and hope to get sparks or something. I could build pretty good horses with my deck, but I am simply too lazy and unbothered to care and rather enjoy the game my own way.
