WoW is a crushingly lonely experience. I do not have friends. I have never been able to make friends in WoW. I played even in vanilla, and whilst boomers back then managed to find wives in WoW, I found nothing. I will often see two or more people walking by together, clearly friends questing, and I think 'That must be nice'. But it's not my fate, I am destined to reach max level and find a dead guild and stand around on the Orgrimmar bank roof wondering whether I'll ever achieve the dream of having a comfy guild full of friends progressing together. You want aggro on a sentient being so you can pull mobs where you need them. A pet is like playing Russian roulette. Its enough for a big patrol to come down, so you move to the side with all the mobs that got aggro on you but the hunter forgets his pet. So you have to run back and taunt that one mob back from the pet. Which taunts it back immediately. Meanwhile the hunter usually just does his rotation and is clueless of what's happening.

Having full rage on the next pull means you can dump at the beginning of the fight and ensure aggro will maintain on you. In theory it's good but basically never in practice. Most hunters simply aren't doing it mindfully and are at high risk of wiping the party if you see them doing it. Even if they are good hunters, if you're not coordinated with them and it's a random group you probably don't recognize immediately that there's a hunter pet trying to off tank instead of a priest getting overzealous.
But on a purely mechanical level, even if everything else is fine, it's pretty iffy for efficiency. Hunter pets growling means they're doing less damage with actual abilities, them pulling aggro can compete with things like lightning shield damage or rage generation, less speed on a pull can be a bigger risk than the tank taking less hits because the number one thing that wipes low level dungeon parties aside from execution mistakes is mana issues on the healer if a fight is prolonged.

A lot actually has to go right for this strategy to be good. Anyone who wants hunters pet off tanking is only copying high end strats they see but not playing the game in reality.

Stance dancing, a lot of consumes, engineering, certain skills generating a lot of damage and threat that aren't part of defensive stance, a lot of very useful enchants like ZG enchants.
I remember someone told me to never leave defensive stance but to put points into defensive tactics.
I remember I was selling some enchants and some random guy asked for a +2% on shields. Cheap and easy to get enchants and very strong for warrior tanks. But I never heard of it nobody ever told me. Same with ZG enchants. Nobody ever told me. Or stuff like Jujus and similar
Really the most useful information I got was from Narghul and his channel. Now that doesn't excuse my behavior and I did apologize for that. But still I was meant to be a top class tank for WoW sweats with 20+ years experience.
People put a lot of trust and resources into me and I couldn't deliver. Is that really just ego? I just wanted to be useful and most importantly not disappoint people.

No, survival is poo poo at early levels. The whole play style revolves around in-combat traps. You need that capstone talent for the spec to be viable. It's tons of fun at high levels though, imo.

For leveling your best bet is BM and then maybe respec to survival once you have enough points for the capstone Master Trapper talent. Survival enables some silly AOE farms by kiting mobs in circles through a frost traps and hitting them with carve and explosive traps on cooldown. So it's recommended just to go with BM until at least level 40.

not terrible on the keyboard but it looks like you need to get an MMO mouse. i honestly kind of hate them because with that many tiny buttons they are too stiff and difficult to hit rapidly like you can with a keyboard. i have a Razer and another brand and both suck. i used to do better with a +2 extra side buttons gaming mouse than i was a kid than with 12 buttons now.

maybe i should design a proper MMO mouse with like only 6 side keys that are as tactile and easy to slam as the keyboard.

anyway, your keybinds don't suck but you do need a mouse for shit you can't reach with your left hand. and even without a gaming mouse, you should be binding the mouse wheel, with every modifier available. so up/down and shift + alt + control = 6 more keybinds and these are some of the best ones since the wheel is so easy to flick.

idk, just my average experience. you do end up with high levels in turtle groups due to the huge range on the dungeon finder. that could be part of my issue. but overall, just doing my thing solo is at least 2x better, if not more, than dungeon shit. i am not knocking on wow dungeons cause i think they are fantastic and the rewards are great, just not the XP factor in an average turtle queue group.

Levelling in vanilla/classic is unironically the most important part of the game for me. I don't know how people can just grind mobs endlessly. I remember levelling a mage in classic in 2019 and being baffled at the people doing spell cleave groups or even AoE levelling. I might do it when the alternative is playing in zones I hate.

Fuck everyone who constantly praised the 3.3.5 client. It is better in some way but addons are so bad compared to what we get in turtle. I tried all the plates addons and they are all shit. This version of ElvUI is quite bad compared to pfUI. I couldn't find a bag addon as good as bagshui. Total RP 3 is so shit compared to TurtleRP, the minimap scanning is so jank, you can only see people in your zone, you can't freely see people in the directory, only people who you met, you have to target people to see if they have a RP profile, you can't see if people have a RP profile from a mouseover unless you already have them in your directory. Only thing better with Total RP 3 is all the things you can put in your profile. The only good addon that 3.3.5 have compared to 1.12 is WeakAuras and maybe Details.
