I am currently running a 500 div or so smite trickster and I can't get past the last phase. I don't deal enough damage to get through the gimmicky shit fast (character is more tanky than offensive).
I can beat Sirus and other bosses with no problem, but Maven kicks my butt. Kinda sad, it's been a while since I was able to farm endgame content. There seems to be a more offensive variant of my build maybe I should try that

I don't like that you either take little to no damage in PoE (1 & 2) or you straight up get 1 shot. During an interview between Johnathan and Zizaran they had a back and forth about this and Johnathan said that it's because damage taken is not attrition based and that the way DMG works in the game would have to be reworked entirely to avoid having bosses 1 shot you as being the only real challenge. It made me think the game would be better that way but who knows.

the problem is that recovery in both games is absolutely fucked. interestingly enough torchlight actually solved this. instead of leech theres "regain" which heals you for a percentage of your missing life or es and has an internal cooldown. you can also sacrifice an active skill slot to get some recovery which is a big cost in that game, youre basically giving up like 30-50% more damage. recovery comes at a premium and you can choose to sacrifice damage for close to poe levels of recovery or you can accept that your recovery sucks and damage will stick for a few seconds when you get hit.
the result is that the main threat arent big oneshots but sustained medium sized hits. it works very well

I do not like multiple copies of the same support gem. It feels like a bandaid fix to solve the Lightning Spear problem. I thought it was actually semi-interesting picking multiple skills that could use different supports, I also don't know why so many supports have been added if they plan to let us use multiple.
