Why is playing Ember so depressing? Even when you make her kinda work, it just feels like coping when so many frames can do the same but better and with less setup or investment.

>Immolation is just terrible. There is no reasom to have a constant energy drain for a shitty DR that isn't even at 90% at all times. No other frame in the game does this.

She is unironically better now than she used to be.
WoF's damage was only good for clearing trash, it fell off hard above level 30. You just miss your low level AFK farming.
I used to have to switch off her in any high level content because she had zero survivability and the damage did nothing even with heavy investment.
At least now she has survivability; self heal, overguard, etc and her damage actually kills things on Steel Path. Sure, it's slower than other frames and there's a lot of improvements that could be made. But I've been playing her long enough to appreciate where she's at.

I can get past her slower kill rate, but the energy drain still fucks me. Even with zenurik, energize and the inferno augment. As for survivability, her overguard gets deleted instantly, and it gets no damage reduction. Keeping it up means spending even more energy.

You're honestly required to dedicate a slot to Fleeting to improve her energy consumption. There's no way about it. I've seen builds that forego any and all efficiency just to make number go up and that's retarded. Looks good on paper but would never work in practice. You might also consider a blue shard for extra energy capacity also, which also makes your energize procs more efficient with more space.

This is the build I use, I ended up inadvertently investing into armor due to an Umbral Forma I used before Archon Vitality came out, but having Umbral Fiber there boosts Umbral Intensify and the extra armor gives you some breathing room to recast 3 to get your overguard and health back which works out. I've taken her to EDA and not gone down once.

so I can spam blaze artillery even while invis, retaining the 30% from AC

Are you playing on SP? That makes a diff. for energy because you get a lot more enemies and especially Eximus units who always give an energy orb upon death. What are you spamming, her 4? You shouldn't run into energy issues, unless you are trying to keep her 2nd ability up at all times and not using her 3 from time to time to CC and getting overguard (if you have the augment).
Otherwise you can always go for Equilibrium + a companion with Synth Deconstruct and maybe Duplex Bond too. Zenurik shouldn't be needed anymore.
There's a build with Breach Surge and her 4 that can nuke pretty fine. Invest in casting speeds for that. Ember is pretty fine overall and versatile, she's not meta anything but maybe A- tier or something. My only wish for her would be to have a bit bigger numbers on her 4, but whatever.

Other than Watframe mods, what other ways can I boost movement speed? Not parkour speed, I want movement speed specifically for Hildryn. I don't think parkour speed works when she's flying.
I know there's a mod for primary weapons that gives move speed and another would be an incarnon form. Is there one for secondaries? How about arcanes? Focus school?

He's a crutch for people with no imagination. If I could suggest a frame for a new player to progress fast into higher level, it would be Wisp, she's great all rounder. Farm Wisp Prime or if you're close, do the Ropalolyst mission on Jupiter, she's worth it.

Idea for a true Ember rework
Passive: enemies on fire build up a new meter that increases heat damage of all types and a revive mechanic that consumes 80% of the bar that causes a 7.5m explosion
Fireball: replaced by Inferno. Shoots out a fan of fire starting at a range of 10m but with damage falloff starting at 5, range of both increased by ability range. Keep the Fireball augment
Immolation: meter removed. 90% DR at all times as well as immune to heat, blast, and gas procs. Works like a combination of Iron Skin and Splinter Storm. For the first 5 seconds, turn all incoming damage into a surrounding damage output with no cap with a radius of 7 to 15m based on range
Fire Blast: tie to meter removed, full armor strip at 200% strength now. Augment is kept, but numbers adjusted to scale overguard given off of enemy level
Inferno: replaced with Phoenix Rising. Summons a phoenix (reskinned Dante bird) that has toggle between 3 methods of attack. 1st is rapid shot fireballs targeting multiple enemies. 2nd is stream of fire targeting a single enemy that releases smoke, blinding nearby enemies. 3rd groups enemies together and dives at them like her current Inferno meteors. Gets an augment that gets rid of all 3 and flies around Ember, setting enemies under it on fire

Do I failed them? Fuck me if I cared, I just wanna do survivals. just the other day I was tagged along with a Volt MR30+2 (whatever you call them) and I was with my trusty Trinity on a grineer spaceship tileset. I noted he was at the cross shaped tile, so I decided to join to maximize enemy traffic, I dont know if this person wanted to pull a long survival, I was up for a 30-40 min survival. Lonsg story short, synergy blossomed, this person and I understood without words what was needed to do, I was doing Blessings as needed and I was getting the speedups, just as I was testing a Melee with critical chance and damage attached to the combo counter build, so the speedup worked like a charm, red crits, red crits everywhere, just as I saw so many times on meta builds. We pulled a 100min survival, beautiful stuff. i dont know how much time will I be playing this game, as the grind is hitting me again. Im not even near of a burnout, but I member how the grind can meke this game feel like a chore and suck out all the fun. But for those 100 minutes, it was as beautiful as the mechanics allowed.

You really want to know? You'll probably get burned out doing it though. But here you go:
Cetus, Fortuna and Deimos have shops where you can buy companion mods, the Bond mods specifically. They sell for 15-20p a piece. I sell them at 15. They cost 20k standing. I don't even remember what MR you get a standing limit of 20k but once you do then just farm up the 20k standing, buy the mods then sell them and repeat the next day. That's 7 days * 3 mods (1 per syndicate) * 15 plat each = 315p.

Then you can do Simaris standing. At 20k daily standing cap you can get 100k standing in 5 days. You buy Energy Conversion and sell it for 60p in 5 days, but lets make it simple so 60p in a week. You are now 375p per week.

Then there's Cavia, Holdfast and Hex syndicates. Instead of mods you buy arcanes and max them. You need to buy 21 arcanes to max rank them.
Cavia arcanes needs 157.5k standing. That means if you are earning 22.5k standing per day then you can get an arcane per week. This sells for 70-80p. Unfortunately you need an extra 30k to buy the Archon shard per week. So you need 27k standing per day to get the arcanes and the archon shard. Let's just pretend you get the arcane every two weeks. So you get 35-40p per week instead.
Hex standing also needs the same amount of standing but without the extra 30k. The arcanes sells for 40-50p.
Holdfast arcanes costs more, needing 210k standing. You need 30k standing per day to get an arcane per week. This sells for 50-60p. 30k standing a day might still be a long way so let's say you get it every two weeks, so 25-30p per week instead.

Add it all up and you get ~475p per week.

Lastly your regular syndicate also nets you 10p a day but only if you have 25k daily limit. So that's another 70p per day. But I found that these don't sell as fast so I'm not going to count it.

Find what syndicate is easy to get max standing on and see what you can sell if doing this each day is too much.

I do this in like, 45 minutes.
Cetus and Fortuna daily is 5 mins each.
Cavia and Hex I do 3-4 mins bounty missions and I usually only do 3-4 before maxing them out.
Holdfast I can stockpile the turn-in items, same with Deimos.
Simaris standing is also a simple 4 min mission.
That's around 40 minutes for a good run.

I've been playing since Jun 27th after quitting in 2013 and already ran out of most things to do that are new. I feel just time delayed with all the shit in my forge and not able to do mastery tests multiple times a day, logging in for shitty dailies and then grinding relics that don't matter and plat because I don't know. They've added... nothing in that time other than some automatic rehash events from years ago and tennocon that had nothing in game for who knows how long. Is that normal? If the enemy has shields you cannot technically 1-shot them since the code has to differentiate your damage between shields and HP
Since the damage has to calculate twice the electric damage proc manages to slip right in the middle
Electric damage proc goes fucking insane because its hitting a target with no armor (usually) and hits for 10-20mil
Additionally, it can -only- proc electricity on heavy slams, meaning if you stack status you will get multiple electric procs and no impact
This means getting a negative impact riven is totally worthless since you cant proc impact anyway, you're literally just reducing your damage

Result = 20mil electricity proc that can proc multiple times and hits everything in a 20 Meter AoE that also bypasses walls

Not bad.

Panzer Vulpy is a support companion with it's viral and giving you a free 'revive' if your health gets too low. Also has a nice damage bonus with Tenacious bond if you have the Bite mod on the claws.
Nautilus is good because it's a Sentinel that can reach 1200 shields for Reinforced Bond for more fire rate.
Dethcube works like Nautilus but doesn't use Reinforced Bond and instead generates energy orbs instead.
For damage the sentinel weapon is more important. It can do a lot of damage. The only one you want is Verglas Prime.
I don's use the robot dogs.

Duviri Paradox circuit is okay as a new player for it's rewards. The story for it doesn't make sense til much later in the main quest and even then you might just completely forget about it and be even more confused depending on how many hours are between now and then. Deadlock Protocol is basically a side quest to introduce a new big corpus villain that's also relevant later, and it also introduces the corpus ship tileset's minigame that can reward Protea's warframe components and some other stuff. I think it also unlocks the Sister of Parvos mechanic too?

The main quests are never incredibly hard as long as you're modding your weapons and frames correctly and they give you some free stuff and unlock new modes. But because there isn't any real level requirement for them, the story ramps up extremely fast and then you're back to clearing blue nodes. Do whatever you want like working toward a warframe, that's usually pretty fun. I've been disappointed often when I work after a specific weapon in my experience.

I am not doing any quests until I get my main frame looking fresh and good

Revenant's Reave is literally one of the only infinitely scaling abilities in the game since it scales off of the enemy's health.
Everyone uses Revenant as a gun frame because of Mesmer Skin but his abilities are perfectly usable. Enthrall keeps enemies distracted and buffs your Reave damage to 40% base of their health. Like it's crazy how much people sleep on that scaling damage.

Other Warframes having a more caster-based design doesn't change that Revenant can and should use his abilities all the way to level cap when Reave is still doing 100% of the enemy's health in one hit. You're literally encouraged to use Enthrall because when Mesmer Skin stuns an enemy you can cast it for no energy. Inferno costs way more energy as it goes by target and if you’re looking to take her into level 200+ content, there’s going to be lots of enemies unless you play on a console or get a console host. Not only that, but world on fire would get buffed by accelerant making it deal more damage in the time it’s active. Inferno deals 80% of its damage up front with the meteor then that last 20% just tickles the enemy like a warm breeze so if you want to actually kill shit before it kills you, you have to press 4 multiple times

I do agree Pablo needed to do a lot more to fix her up, including just removing the scaling energy drain from Immolation instead of lightly reducing the cost of it. Yes, it was truly terrible. She would struggle even in T4 Void both in terms of survivability and damage. I remember trying to use the WoF knockdown augment to try and add some survivability via the stunlock, but that quickly didn't work as soon as someone outside WoF's range walked in the room.

Properly primed (e.g. armor stripped), Inferno can kill a level 165 Corrupted Heavy Gunner with Steel Path modifiers in about 8 seconds on its own with 1 cast. Or at least mine can. That's something WoF would've never been able to dream of, even if that TTK is a lot slower than other frames.
Like the base damage of WoF was fucking 400 every 2-4 seconds. The base damage of Inferno is 2500 with 700 damage /every/ second afterwards. It's not even close.

It was only better in that one category, the damage output was way worse as said above. If they fixed Inferno's LoS check it would be leaps and bounds better in every category except AFK farming (which is really what people miss, even I was guilty of it to farm lower level void key missions while hiding in that tile that lets you go in the sewer) but I'd still take what we have now for usability.

I’d say Fire Blast’s LOS needs to be removed first since I always see enemies that should be getting hit by it, simply not; although hitting Inferno with the removal of a LOS check would be welcomed for sure. I think people using her to AFK farm these days would be the least of their worries since people just take Octavia for that now
