AI Studio is frantic about naughtiness, so I'm not sure if it'll be possible to adapt in the normal way. It would be cool if I could upload the Japanese .pdfs directly and have it translate everything, but IDK. I need .pdfs and luck. Consider this a low possibility adaptation. I hear fa/tg/uys have invented Labyrinthus, a lewd RPG. Maybe there'll be more luck with that.
There's an incredible amount of tabletops to adapt. I browse 1d6chan every day and cream myself to the idea all those systems will be playable sooner or later.

Sorry for taking so long to answer, was doing research. As I understand it here's the deal.

That would be the 2E since it was more or less directly compatible with 1E and in that era was where all the more well known adventures came form. 3E isn't too far behind, though in this edition they did more full on campaigns instead of short runs like in the previous two.

3E is more or less compatible with everything from the first two aside from some very light tweaking like swapping NPC statblocks.
4th edition and on made the most changes to rules and while you could adapt older stuff for it it would take a lot more work.
So it seems like for your purposes 3E is the sweet spot.
If anyone has more insight on this do feel free to add or correct anything.

It's done with Calibre + DeDRM plugin, adding a pdf to calibre and then right-clicking and saving it back to file on disk to get a copy without encryption. (in case you need it in the future for other systems)

I'm an AD&D 1E/OSRIC fan but regardless of voting results i'd hold on adopting OSRIC until the new 3rd edition they're drafting now releases because it's set to be aimed at introduing new players and bringing it significantly closer to AD&D 1E now that they're not quite as afraid of lawsuits.

I was thinking about Shadowrun ever since I rewatched season 1 of TMNT, Hot Rodding Teenagers from Dimension X episode where these future elves appear. It's amazing how Cyberpunk TMNT are. They came out the same year CP2013 was released.
CP was coquetting with fantasy since the very early days. There's this 3rd party line called Necrology/Alternate Reality that came out during the same period as oWoD. There's also a compatibility layer between CP2020 and VtM!

Yes, a lot. Compatability with modules isn't quite the same as actual rules and expected playstyle.
Personally I think the big old school D&D systems people split between are OD&D and AD&D 1E.
The first one is vague and at times whimsical so Gemini could go very out there with it.
Meanwhile 1E is very clear about what it sets out to do, the assumed playstyle and setting. The party is running around with a whole lot more magic items and HP to work with in all likelihood and have tons of monsters that can threaten them even at high levels.
The whole lethal everything out to kill you is less of a reality since raise dead isn't a high level spell and more of an explanation to players who at thet time only knew 3.5E, and race as class is only part of Basic D&D which were editions meant to introduce kids into AD&D.

I agree. Gemini likes improvisation more than the rules. however, half the fun is seeing it enforce the rules.
Now, I understand the Anglosphere got introduced to D&D as teens or kids back in the 70s, but as for me and most Yuropoors, we started much later, when Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment games came out. 2e is our vision of what old is and it's entirely tied to games. Nobody played the actual tabletop game before 3.5e. I've only played 5e, that's why I started this project. I wanted to experience something else. Brazilians started with 2e as well, but with tabletops. I think only Poles had TTRPGs before the early 2000s. We were lagging behind some 30 years when it comes to gaming culture. For example there weren't any arcade games here, only pinball if you were lucky. If my dad wanted to play something like D&D back in the day, he would have gotten laughed at. Only acceptable hobbies here were drinking, gambling, fishing, hunting and playing chess.

BECMI is more like a flanderized weird version of Moldvay in my view stretching out powers over a lot of levels and adding bad god rules. Holmes is the one that's fairly close to OD&D but I would still go OD&D over it.

AD&D 1E is a bit ambivalent about that and talks about planar adventuring as well and that's where it really shines in my mind but it's idea of planar adventuring is very different form Planescape, but yeah it's partly because OD&D has it's roots in wargaming and they thought it was fun to be lords and have armies. Gygax talked about one game where their roving army needed food so they robbed cities of it but making sure they slaughtered anyone who dinged as cosmic Evil™ aligned on the way to "make up" for it.
