Oh cool another Final Fagtasy collab. Here comes the trannies and festering abominations from /xivg/ to ruin our stable and lighthearted general.

I was reflecting on why particularly I have not as much fun with wilds as I have had with previous entries.
Now to be clear I like wilds and have had fun but I have felt this bit hollow feeling when starting the game and calling it a day only after few hunts. First I thought it was just having less time due work but the feelings just kept on nagging.
Today I got it and it's simply because this is the first monster hunter I have been playing alone without the usual friends I spent over a decade playing the series with. It was a slow drift apart which makes it little bit more painful and the little chatting we do in steam does not get them energized to play even tho they also bought wilds.
There just ain't much I can do about it.
You can really feel that summer has ended in the air.

The point of xiv's combat (back then) was that every job was an intricate system of cooldowns, self buffs/boss debuffs/Damage over time effects that you had to maintain, resource management (TP/MP) and job specific mechanics. Tanks had to dance between stances to balance dealing maximum damage to the boss while holding aggro, and healers had to do something similar with a stance that boosted their damage but also neutered their healing and vice versa. This was layered under the bosses making you do simple but engaging mechanics on the fly.
It doesn't look like much when you don't know what's going on but its incredibly cerebral and engaging to play when you play it back then.
Now the content is dogshit slop and the jobs all play the fucking same, they neutered everything for the sake of retards who log in once a year to read some msq quests.

I wonder why exactly those specific monsters were chosen for deviants. Aside from the raths, most of them are portable originals. The exceptions being hermitaur, tetsucabra, and uragaan. I wonder if ichinose played a role in helping design those 3 like tokuda played a role in designing congalala. It would explain why he included the baby tetsucabra in rise for literally no reason. Uragaan and tetsu also remind me of duramboros a lot in terms of fight design and we know duramboros is a portable original monster so it makes sense. It would also explain why hermitaur is in sunbreak but not world or wilds for whatever reason. I wonder why uragaan wasn't in rise though. This is all just a theory though maybe he just likes the design of those monsters and wasn't involved in designing them

Monster hunter has always had difficulty 'tiers' of monsters, so I'm kind of confused as to why every shitmon apparently needs 9 star variants.
You can give a Balahara a 9 star attack and health multiplier, but what's he even going to drop? A new lower tier of talismans to meet how non-threatening any of those monsters would even be?
Event quests seem the right way to go about it because then they could actually give them a particularly interesting reward (though that might be a hard ask for capcom. just give me crown event quests already)
