Night Awls by default get +2 Pierce Power. Give them Wedge and that's +3. Offensive Position? +4. Fervor adds an extra +1 later though you can also use Solidarity for more immediate gains (Allen will have to settle for Eye of Death).
That's +5 Pierce Power on Scene 1. A single Laceration (10-14 10-13 6-8 with a counter that rolls 8-11 and inflicts a shitton of Bleed) will annihilate the enemy team and they can outroll a lot of shit even with Wedging Thorn (8-11 6-8).
Then you add EGO like Green Stem (8-14 8-14 8-15) or, worse still, Magic Bullet (which conveniently has 2 masses, a 9-13 9-13 9-13 and a 10-14 10-14).
Red Mist needs Myo's Prowess (which Myo is way better at using) to get the highest boost and even that will give only one card 5 Power on average. To really get going, she needs EGO, which requires Emotion Level 4. She has Focus Spirit, but Night Awls aren't locked to any floor and can abuse things like Loyalty, Apostles and Dark Flame, making that point moot in the long run.
There are 5 Night Awls total btw.
Meanwhile, Oswald gets +1 Power max.

I have a question about Lob Corp. I've been playing it, still early on day 6-7. Just got the second department.
I have that radio signal abnormality, and it has a gimmick where if you get bad results it'll lower the qlipoth counter. So am I right in wondering that eventually it'll be a strat to intentionally get bad results to lower the counter?

I gave it a try to experiment but my employees sp is too low. The one went insane, and started running around. I tried to hit him with a weapon from the skull, to refill his sp. But he never stopped running so my other employee couldn't hit him, which then led to them going insane.

The canto structure means flashback is the only way they have to do things because canto are way too short and ephemeral to do set-up/foreshadowing/pay off for the [THIS SINNER IS THE CANTO SINNER], because there is no room for it anywhere else since there's already not enough room for one sinner in a canto.
This is also because sinners have zero agency or initiative. We just follow the magic quest marker given by the higher ups. We can't stray from the path, we don't have any other motivations, and NPCs disappear up the butthole of not-enough-screentime forever after their single scene.

3 Fragile doesn't matter if you basically can't lose enough clashes (and some floors just let you heal what little damage you take). The same applies to Solidarity, you're doing something wrong if somebody can die under these conditions. Name 5 enemies that can outroll 5 Pierce Power, especially after getting Laceration thrown at them (which is at least 5 Feeble on anything that isn't a worthless mook, even more later on). Your only answers would be those that powernull, but RM suffers from those just as much.
Masses don't matter because Laceration will outroll every single one that isn't Raging Storm, which happens only once.
RM's EGO power doesn't matter beyond the +2 because you've already won before she can even activate EGO, let alone kill people after that. Onrush is also a waste of light you'd rather use on Focus Spirit and Splits are likewise not worth the light you could spend on that + Spear.
Mountain is a meme and Yujin gets way more out of stacking abnos than RM (like 4 Strength for simply existing and 3 fragile on the whole enemy team if she stubs her toe, both of which provide infinitely more value than Mountain by simply not killing allies). None of it matches a Night Awl team either.
There are better options to maximize effects of Apostles and Dark Flame alone, but none of them can powerstack as hard.
This is all backed by hard data and it's not even the only instance in Ruina. Generic Hana Fixers are better than half of Ensemble just because of Trigrams.

My guys you just overclock with it once at the start of the battle and she'll start with 3 stacks, that's poise spread to 4 people every single turn. To this day it is still the best corrosion in this game and straight up costs less to use than the awakening, you simply bring a random level 1 id for it to murder on turn 1.

Also I just want to point out that you start with 3 light and gain 1 max light per emotion level so the best case scenario is that you'll use laceration on turn 1 and be left with 1 light the next turn. Assuming you're constantly using Ominous power to keep up, that still means you're using 1 offensive skill per librarian.. And killing everything by emotion level 3 means you'll only ever be using 1 skill per librarian and max 2 at emotion level 3 because that's when you'll have a max of 6 light to spend. Well, assuming you have anything in your hand by then anyway since you're clearly not focused on light gen or card draw

Only a third of the deck dealing damage doesn't matter when you always have 2-3 in hand and can always use it. You'd know this if you've ever played the game.

There are no fights worth mentioning that last long enough to reach emotion level 4 (and I have to keep reminding you it's 4 and not 3 for RM's EGO). You beat D. Ensemble the moment you kill Philip, Black Silence is done after first phase, realizations are floor-specific to begin with, R Corp is done after you kill Reindeer team and that's it. You've already beaten Crying Children by then, Red Mist and PT are both a joke, Yan dies even faster.

I know you've never played the game, but there is this thing that happens when your emotion level rises. You get all of your light back. Ominous Power does not take a slot as it is an instant page, something you'd know if you've ever played the game.
