That particular nature died on URA semis, it's a coinflip whether she survives the run. It's nice to win for the skill points to be able to afford assorted front/late debuffs, but not required. Completing all career goals however is required or you don't get the Aoi event for hesitant end closers. Grass runs Hishi over Aoi mostly because I don't expect Grass to win second Arima Kinen, so she wouldn't get the Aoi event and needs a mid run source of hesitant end closers.

It's not pretty but it works, in no small part due to a mix of speed and stamina sparks until a planned death to senior year Arima Kinen. You can bring Kitasan over Sweep if you don't need lone wolf on Grass, but I wanted it since I didn't have it on any of my other CM umas.

Depends on position. An Oguri Cap built well with no competition is likely to win most of her matches, because a key advantage of pace is pretty much never being blocked in CM.
Goldships that are able to reposition properly into 4-5th midrace and don't get blocked also have a good chance of winning.
The stronger late surgers like Rudolf have very high chances of winning as long as they don't get blocked.
Out of all of them, Pace Chasers will genuinely just be given free wins if they have medium S, 1200 speed and enough stamina simply because they'll proc red shift, accelerate and be so far ahead of everyone that it doesn't matter.

In general though you want to be winning the majority of your matches, if you're just losing to Oguris and Goldships with S in medium and good stats and inherited skills there's really nothing you can do except highroll a better horse or hope they either get blocked or something goes wrong for them somehow.

So your only accel skill is iron, and if it doesn't proc you will 100% lose. For end closers, Goldship has the advantage of her mid game skill that pushes her way up ahead so she can proc Red Shift+Shooting for Victory and you'll never catch up. To match that with Taishin, you need more mid game skills to try and keep up and/or pass the Golshis. Or more max speed with spring runner and/or left handed.

If you watch your races properly you'll notice something very obvious about Taishin compared to Goldship.
Mid way through the race, Goldship gets a huge chunk of velocity, and her AI utilises it to move up to 4th/5th which ends up with her outside the majority of the time primed for a burst.
Taishin doesn't do that. Instead Nemesis is a skill that needs to activate from the back. In lobbies with Goldships, this naturally leads to Taishin taking the inside route (behind every late surger) as the Goldships reposition using the outside. Leading to Taishin getting absolutely fucking blocked at extremely high consistency if you're with two goldships.

This isn't to say Taishin can't win, built properly (medium S + two accelerations) in a fair fight she will fly down the track with Nemesis but the issue is that you are basically guaranteed to lose if the other opponents are built similarily and nemesis takes more than a second to activate after the music shift starts
