You can do sidequests and dlc after you free Hans in the main story, but there's no rush to do dlc since it's always accessible. Some sidequests become inaccessible after completing main story but the game warns you before the point of no return so you can save Hans first if you want. If you want to romance Rosa, then you have to finish her book sidequest IMMEDIATELY after rescuing Hans.
Now that I think about it, it's weird that Jobst and Zizka are certain that Hans is in no danger and tell Henry he's retarded for being worried, but Rosa constantly has melties about how they're going to torture or execute her father even though he's a noble just like Hans. What's the difference?

As funny as I find this scene it's also somewhat unfortunate because Trosky Kat is a great character and a believable female badass. She's the perfect femme fatale and gets reduced to a hysterical woman stereotype by the end of the game. I guess someone decided she needed an "arc". Not every character needs growth. The way she was portrayed in Trosky was perfect. Even if they wanted to drop her backstory on Henry, her characterization in the first half still makes sense in that context. I'm not even a culture warrior of any variety but they butchered a believable, strong woman character in the second half of the game and it's a shame. One of my only issues with the game's writing desu.

Did Von Aulitz have any historical ties to Austria? Or is the inclusion of an Austrian composer's (composers') music during his end game cutscene just because it sounds good and I'm reading too much into it?

Killing Brabant being portrayed as the immoral choice reinforces the idea of ghost parents being Henry's conscience/doubt to me, as opposed to legit supernatural entities appearing in his dreams. Brabant is every bit as bad as Toth just without the personal connections to Henry. Henry likely spares a lot of people a lot of suffering by ending him. Of course, killing is wrong, period, but war is a nasty business. Henry has killed far more honorable men than Brabant. I think the biggest takeaway shouldn't be whether or not it was "right" or "just" but the fact it was ultimately the lesser of two evils. That's what the game is about. Wenceslas is/was a shit ruler. Even Henry understands this. Wenceslas isn't slaughtering Bohemians like Sigismund though. Zizka, Jobst, and Devil are bastards and terrible allies but Henry needs them. He gets this too.

I agree with this 100%. I feel like Kat's Kuttenberg arc was a last minute add on. Like "oh no there's only one (technically two) straight romance(s) and one gay one, we need to fix that". I'm a straightfag that doesn't play Hansry for rp purposes but I have never felt obliged to romance Katherine at all either. I was actually pissed when, pre patch, the sex scene triggered between them when I was going for a Theresa run my first playthrough. She's a great character when she's very subtly involved with Zizka. There was no need to have her fall for Henry.

Come to think of it, Katherine is the only romance option that doesn't actually feel romantic at any point. Rosa is coy and flirty right off the bat, Hans worries about Henry like a wife waiting for her husband to return home from the war 24/7, Klara is possibly just doing her job as a spy but her interest is painfully obvious, Theresa is blatantly into Henry in AWL, even fucking Lousy Mary constantly begs Henry to fuck her when he's in a 10 mile radius of her. Meanwhile Katherine has two side quests where nothing remotely romantic happens, she verbally shits on Henry for the rest of the game, then her love confession is dumped on you by her boss.

Regardless of how "canon" it is Theresa and Henry were very attracted to each other even before the Skalitz raid. Theresa was a good friend and didn't want to play homewrecker against Bianca, but she was obviously lusting after Henry HARD. It was so cool seeing the seeds of their romance being planted in her DLC (just as I imagine Hansrys enjoyed the Hans DLC in KCD1). The part where Theresa gets a good hit in on Henry when they're sparring and he tries to play it off is so charming.

He's hilarious too but my favorite opponent to actually fight is Emmeram because he's a giant faggot and I love knocking him out of the tournament after I knocked him out cold in the street in front of his own shop for all of Kuttenberg to see. I avoid violence in any form when it's possible during quests. I think it's in line with "canon" Henry's beliefs. This is one of the only exceptions I make. Emmeram 1000% deserves to have his ass beat after what he does. He's one of the easiest NPCs to hate in the entire game. I'd sneak in his house at the middle of the night and stab him in his sleep if it made sense for my RP. It would make my day if we got an opportunity to dab on him in some way during the forge DLC.

Very cool! Thanks anon. I had a feeling given how stylized this image was compared to the rest of the game's art, that it was referencing folklore. I know it's a pipe dream, and part of the reason I love these games is their devotion to historicity, but it'd be really cool if we got some sort of equivalent of the "wild wasteland" perk in Fallout NV for KCD. Make it completely optional, but you get some neat, off the beaten path ambiguously paranormal encounters based on Czech folklore. We kind of already get that with Balthazar and the female embodiment of "death" but some more region specific stuff would be really cool.

A little too old for my taste but I truly appreciate the suggestion. I've always felt like paranormal stuff is infinitely more impactful and neat when it's hard to encounter and very rare. Even in a reality where dragons and fairies etc. are real 99% of people would still never encounter them right? Idk how hard modding this game is. I have no first hand experience with modding beyond casual editing of game files. That being said, I've been hoping so hard we get some kind of monster/folklore mod to this game since the first one. The lighting of the woods at night in these games is just too realistic and spooky to not have anything scary (beyond the occasional bandit ambush) happen in them.

In fairness, and in my experience with this gen, the Theresabros and Hansrybros have never really butted heads that hard. Both romances were treated with a lot of nuance and respect in game. Most of us, gay or straight, care about Henry at the end of the day. Whatever makes him happy makes us happy whether he likes boys, girls, or both. For what it's worth I might be the biggest Theresafag left in this general. I still support the hell out of Hansry because it's the reason this general is still alive but also because Tom and Luke are both super enthusiastic about it. Tom's latest on stream Q and A was really great and he got very candid about Hansry specifically. It was the theme of the entire stream. You guys should check it out.

I think Balthazar and Lady Death can be both chalked up to Henry’s paranoia/brain damage. Balthazar is fully mortal and killable and Lady Death, being literally untouchable, feels more like a hallucination. We know mental illness is common in the KCD world, with PTSD, claustrophobia, depression, catatonia, social anxiety, schizophrenia all making their appearance.
The creators seem pretty averse to supernatural explanations overall.

This retcon probably only happened because it was a genuine historical error and because they really wanted to draw similarities between the two central characters. I don’t think they’ve retconned anything else.

I think whether Henry is aware of it or not, he sees a bit of himself in Voyta too. They're both tortured by guilt over something that was ultimately out of their control. Theresa's portion of the dlc tends to filter a lot of people because the stealth can be difficult. Johanka's quest is great and has multiple endings. Might take you 4-6 hours depending on how much it filters you. Definitely do it if you're a Theresa fan. Theresa can be mentioned a fair bit in KCD2.

Great cozy dlc where you rebuild a town. However, you absolutely should NOT do this dlc until the main quest is completed because a bug can occur with the quest giver (Divish) can't be interacted with during the main story when you NEED to interact with him to progress the story, thus completely breaking the game. Wait until post-game to be safe. How long it takes depends on how much groschen you have, as it requires a lot. This dlc is mentioned in conversation once or twice in KCD2 so it's canon.

A handful of quests, somewhat short but fun. Might take you 2-3 hours, but you should wait until later in the game to do it when you have a solid grasp on combat. I don't think the events of this dlc are ever mentioned in KCD2 unless I missed it.

Not at all. You'd be surpised how much literary analysis you can find on Tumblr of all places. A bunch of fujos I know have completed multiple playthroughs of the game as well. Several are also streaming the game. A lot of them are posting about buying the artbook and merch. Fujobucks ARE real. Also, the actors are making bank from the streams.

Overall, it's healthy for a game to have some fujo playerbase. It just has to be the employed type of fujo and not the type one that causes problems.

I have always been of the mind that content creators have to stick to their vision and never ever let themselves be swayed by shippers that want a certain ship to happen. But that goes both ways, reading anon's summary it really does sound like the creators instead shot the other way and ended up making everyone in that main cast miserable and get a terrible and unsatisfying ending (except that Shiro I guess) just to spite shippers. Well, I can't claim credit, it was my brother who adopted him and recently he had been living in a different apartment (not far away).
Also I don't know the details of what the diseases are named, but the issue was that his teeth were rotting. The dev notes actually explain this. For Warhorse, the default KCD2 player is not particularly familiar with KCD1: either because they never played it, or they played it and dropped it, or they played it and no longer remember much about it. So in KCD2 they re-introduce the story-critical parts to get all the players on the same page, and the rest is delegated to what is essentially easter eggs for the hardcore fans. And since most Theresa/Henry interactions were optional and missable, things end up looking the way they do.

I like to RP that my Henry while not interested in Theresa romantically was still grateful to her for saving his life. Thus, before I finished the last mission and uninstalling KCD1, I dumped 90% of my valuables and cash stack in Peshek's chest so she'd be set for life.

You know it occurs to me, I think a lot of the valid criticism of Kuttenburg feeling more rushed and rail roaded might not even be the "pacing" itself. It might just be the hunger/energy perks. It's so much easier to just travel from place to place and accomplish quests. You don't have to plan around finding places to sleep to the extent that you do in the early game. I always felt like if I was going to sleep somewhere I may as well see what if any quests are available there. Kind of slows the game down and makes you value your time in a given location or region that much more. Just musings.

I'm a huge Theresafag but she more or less gives Henry a similar excuse as Rosa. They both really care about Henry they just both doubt the likelihood of the match working long term. Astarion has huge internet presence but barely made into top 3. Kcd2 sold 3 millions and 30% made it to the end. Compare that to the amount hansry fanfics and fanarts who only got a few thousands. Most popular hansry fics got 35000 hits and that does not count people who do not play the game.

Normies are more likely to chose romance just bc its there not bc they saw it on internet or wanted to talk about it, fujos are less likely to be hyper casual so the amount if internet shippers and hans actual stats would have less gap
