I held off on the events because boring. I can't even do Abyss anymore without pressing a button and quitting and then participating when I'm about to fall out of Agony. Memorial Arena is laughable slop. Haven't done the story in any reasonable capacity since Loli Dudu, and I skipped well before then. Like, I don't know. I don't know why I should keep playing this game. They really should've gone full EoS (End of Story) after Part 1 and kept on with CV (soulful) for a little bit, while exploring other ventures. BUT NO. YOU HAVE TO ENJOY THE PART II SLOP. Part 1, for all its criticism, was an actual ending.

Elysian realm was terrible too with how it derailed the entire game into wanking the actual fuck out of Elysia and the flamechasers for over a year while desperately trying to make her more important than the main trio

ER/To the Flawless is nowhear near a masterpiece, it's a mess of storytelling and poor man's Umineko & FFXIV: Shadowbringers/Endwalker if anything, Hua's trauma with Himeko, Mobius stuff in ER 2 & Vill-V personalities show are pretty good but more than half of the other FCs are severely underutilized in their agency outside the moments when they died, they have screentime but the writers did very little with most of them, same goes to the agency of Mei as a character who's the protagonist barely get to do anything with HoC. The among us mystery plot is mediocre with a resolution being a character you've no way to know about is just underwhelming. Raven stuff dragged out the pacing meaninglessly and got little purpose in the arc.

The open world game design is terrible and pointlessly padded it further, even worse is the 16 floor dungeon design to get like 5 minute contents to progress the story.

And using irl people to say Elysia is like them means nothing when real life is far more complex than Elysia ever was, people not gonna act like they have emphathy 24/7, they have time when they're selfish, arrogant, vulnerable, weak, cry, everyone made mistakes, even when they're ultimately selfless and good person. It's just something that they barely bother explore with Elysia, in theory, Elysia could have flaws but because the writers are too busy with glazing and glorifying her character, there's very little to none of it. This is not even starting on how her authority and concept were a complete asspull as well.

Same with Senti, another unique circumstances of choosing Hua's body as the next host, which led to the Herrscher personality thinking it WAS Hua.

I really hated how Elysia's sacrifice is the one that actually let the Herrschers get to be good, and not because of their own willpower and strength. What about Herrschers like Sirin, who had experienced the worst of what humanity had to offer? Why would she even choose to turn good? Ana? The poor girl lost her mind and didn't even get a chance because for a majority of her arc, she was completely incoherent up until where she killer Owl because the Herrscher personality finally took over.

Mei's writing was botched and much of it was a lack of proper development into World Serpent. Her whole deal was trying to get through Project Stigma as soon as possible because Kevin promised it'll make her and Kiana go back to normal. Coral Island was supposed to be about her seeing Owl going all

Wrong. Mei was developing in Arc city and Nagazora and shown to be so human as compares to the other characters around her. But they didn't let her develop because they had to press the deus ex machina button and run the self insert lab test with elysia and fc thereby forgoing any character development or storywise effort for Mei's part. And to do that, they put the hoc blame on her to give the spotlight to fc instead of Mei herself. She was deeply wronged by not just elysia but fcs too. They're the absolute worst thing that happened to Mei. Mei deserved better than them. Because Mei was much better than all 13 combined. Just look at Bronya in the Finale during her HoTr story arc, she's a side character to her fucking mum. The only two main characters who I think actually have good writing are Kiana (which granted is for the best, if one character is going to be well written, it should be the main character) and Hua. That's not to say other characters don't have good writing, for example I think the Bronya/Saving Seele/HoR arc was good, it just peaked in the first 3rd of the game and Bronya never really had anything to do after, but Kiana and Hua are the only two who I think have good writing that last a good time.
