I'm working on a mod right now though I recently got a new idea and may get distracted again. I hope not, but it keeps happening and I can barely get anything done.
As far as Ruina mods go, I have a lot of strong opinions and most of it boils down to "I don't like how most mods are horribly balanced." I can point out a few particularly bad ones like Ayin, Backwards Clock and Eight Chefs, but it's harder for me to think of good ones other than Wrew's, which aren't all that complex. Dongverse is another thing I can point out as those mods are weirdly well-made.
As far as LC mods go, it's been a while since I've touched that game. I recall Wonderlab mod being okay aside from Nosferatu. Nosferatu there breaches if you don't work on him for long enough like WN, but working on him eventually kills your agents even if they work on him once. He becomes a more annoying Scarecrow as a result, it's really not worth interacting with him beyond beating him up every 90-120 seconds. At least his EGO equipment is good.

They could even run smaller events around it. Seems like a no brainer.

The only overly complex ID I ever thought of (that I'd never be able to code)
Would be a Dante/Vergil/Nero style Key Page where
>They get their cards via a "shimmering" effect

The basic idea is that the keypage would start with only a 1/2 speed dice and rather than getting more via Emotion levels you would instead use a "start up" combo and then upgrade to "advanced combos" and then a "final combo" finisher.

So an example finisher would be Nero
You'd use
Reload - Breaker - Revolver - Revolver

And then it would activate an effect that would make the revolver card played last reuse it's last die multiple times like a sweeper card.
This would be a reference to that one combo in DMC5 where Nero grabs an enemy and magdumps them with his revolver. The mechanical pay off (for Ruina) would be getting a bunch of additional onesided attacks on a single target.
I'm not sure if it would be possible to actually do ingame though. I just think it would be fun to think "how can I combo my cards" instead of just choosing the OP cards that will win every clash.

His ramp up will always take 4 instances 10 charge mind whip with at least 2 hitting the secondary to be at his full ramp up which is up to 10 turns of digging in cards and assuming everything else went perfect to give this optimal rotation.

And the fucking bug where (indiscriminate) prioritize a party member first was in the game the entire run of the canto post his release so you couldn't even risk shit to make him ramp quicker.

This is actually easy, you make every skill spend charge like QoH Don. The same gimmick of gains more than spends but won't be able to spend it the same turn it gains it (like QoH don) OR you go the multicrack route of automatically spending HP to make up the charge count difference.

They already solved this as early as Blade Lineage Don. Just start making Poise/Charge IDs that give charge to allies. Even the fucking snakes pile on the poise quickly because the snake arm gives them +5 poise for hititng a target with rupture, and they get +3 count on turn end so they can build it up and actually keep it for crits and rerolls. And even then they're extremely selfish, rupture count negative (though very slightly), need 3-4 turns of ramp or Hongers support to start critting.
Charge ids need something like this as a first step. If they got +5 charge count for hititng a target with say, photoelectricity, that would really help them ramp up fast so they can get their potency within a reasonable timeframe and still have charge count to spend on powerful skills.
But alas, charge ids building potency quickly triggered the stupid mutt so in the garbage they stay

Snake IDs are supposed to by Rupture but they get some of the best poise generation in the game from a buff, not even skills.
Charge gets all sources either limited (1 count per skill) can be lost (charge barrier) or has conditionals (on Kill)

If you had an Id that just GAVE half the charge they spent that round to two adjacent IDs (spent 10, two IDs get 5) that would MASSIVELY help out other IDs that are hurting for count (Like Reindeer Hong Lu)

But... I think we're mostly in agreement on this? The tools are there, they're just hampered by Dogrector's shitty insistence on involving himself in gameplay/id development. If Charge Id mechanics weren't arbitrarily nerfed, they'd be pretty good.

I do plan on trying out both Archipelago and Rogue-like at some point. Like the other Anon said, I absolutely want to see what the many Dong/Walter boss mods have to offer. Clear All Vermillion Cross is one of my favourite mods ever made, I also want to try the “VS Shadow the Hedgehog” Canard Fight mod at some point. For some quick fight mods with your modded/vanilla team there’s Aftermath Collection, Recast Broken Dreams, Gibbus, Tales of the City, MatiBear’s Abnormality Mod.
If you want a completely new experience there’s big mods like Starlight Reverie and Library of Babel, I’ve played both. SR is an interesting experience, it takes place before the main story canonically, so you are encouraged to do all the fights without vanilla keypages (besides Binah, you can make an argument that you can use Vanilla cards from one tier bellow as you would’ve done those fights probably. This still means you won’t be seeing Red Mist till the end of the mod and no Black Slience) and it does introduce some new gimmicks, like Inspiration (randomised dice) but they only really bloom into full archetypes at the endgame. Endgame of SR is kinda comparable to vanilla? You have some strong stuff but you need to be patient to pull it off, cannot rely on Abnormality Pages or Egos since those also get changed.
Babel is the exact opposite it’s harder than Vanilla, you are never on top and even when you tailor your entire strategy to beating the reception, one mistake will kill you (it also changes all keypages, abno pages, ego pages and mechanics and makes Roland one of the best keypages in the game, up there with Angela’s, Gebura still gets shafted). I should also mention I did *not* beat Babel, because I didn’t enjoy it as much as other hard mods. Every fight after Canard is a puzzle fight. It also features *really* big numbers and descriptions. A much more unhinged version of Limbus, in that regard.

Roland's keypage actually sucks due to having poor economy and being unable to synergize with the rest of his floor's librarians, but there's a much bigger problem with him than his kit. You'll see it soon. Not really a story spoiler, it's pure gameplay.
Binah's is the single hardest fight in the entire game because it actively tries fighting the meta. Don't worry about Judgement Bird and co, they are vulnerable to death and can't enforce their gimmicks anymore. It's the end that should concern you.
You should have cleared realizations before Binah and Hokma prior to IC though. They wouldn't feel as tedious. Don't worry about any of them other than Binah's, they are easy.
